Rating: Summary: Not just for state board preparation Review: I purchased this review book midsemester. It has not only prepared me to take my state board examination but has been useful in studying for class as well. It has an easy outline form to follow. The review book has helped me remember key points and increased my critical thinking skills. I would recommend this review book to everyone. My whole class is using it!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I would recommend them to anybody if they wanted to buy a new/used item. My book came to me still wrapped in its original wrapping, in perfect condition, and within 1 week after ordering!
Rating: Summary: My Favorite NCLEX-RN Review Book Review: My search for the best NCLEX-RN book has ended; my sixth NCLEX-RN purchase and my favorite. I also have 1)PreTest by Dahlhauser, 2) The Princeton Review by Pearson, 3) Nat'l Student Nursing Assoc., 4) A Good Thinking Approach by Poorman, and 5) American Nursing Review for NCLEX by Bininger. I love the organization of the outline. It is very thorough yet concise. Each category includes a Pre-test and Post-test. The print and the paper are very comfortable to my eyes, too. Good Luck on the NCLEX!
Rating: Summary: The BEST NCLEX review book Review: Of all the review books i have bought (approximately 5), this is the one i rely on the most. it is so comprehensive, it could take the place of your nursing books. i have been using it since the 2nd semester because it covers everything you really need to know. if you can only afford one book, this is the one. the cd is great, since it is set up similarly to nclex. you can answer a few questions or sit down for hours and keep answering questions. ALSO- the best part is that ALL the answers some with RATIONALES! this is the best aspect of all. good luck!
Rating: Summary: Excellent review! Review: Saunders PN was such a great review, and Saunders RN is great also. One of the best things about it is the CD--you can select areas in which you are weak to study, quiz, or exam. The CD did not work in my tower, but after I called the Saunders folks, they said to press control + alt + the quit button on the Saunders screen. It worked, and I've had no trouble with it at all. Great review, too, during the school year over different topics of study. Several in the class use it, all that use it like it.
Rating: Summary: very good Review: Strongly recommended. Easy to review. Doesn't contain unnecessery details. But i would also suggest to review other books such as questions and answers.
Rating: Summary: money well spent Review: This book helped me understand things that were unclear in lecture and on my unit exams. The review is very easy to understand and very comprehensive. The thing that helped me most is the rationales for answers to the practice test questions because when I came to questions on exams that I had no clue about, knowing the rationales for certain subjects helped me pick out the better answers to the questions. I think it covers all spects of nursing school wonderfully. I guarantee you will too!!!
Rating: Summary: My Saving Grace! Review: This book is great!!
First semester, I sailed through nursing and rarely opened my textbooks. This semester - different story. You gotta study.
I (along with many other classmates) failed the first two tests this semester. So we all ran out and bought different versions of the NCLEX-RN study guides. WITHOUT A DOUBT Saunder's is the best!! I did 20 points better on the third test after just one good study group session with this book. Like others have said, you won't get throught this book in a day. Much of the content we haven't yet covered in lecture, but I know it's coming and I feel I'll have a "heads-up" when it does.
Rating: Summary: Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN Review: This book is very comprehensive, I will say that. It is basically nursing school all wraped in a huge book. There is just WAY to much to read and retain. Very easy to loose concentration. I became so bored with it that I stopped reading it. The CD-ROM is very poor. Granted it contains 1000's of practice questions to help you prepair, but it is very annoying to use. The operation of the CD is not at all smooth. After you answer a question, the CD spools up in your CD-ROM player, which is loud, therfore it takes a couple of seconds before you see the next question, this will break your concentration as it did for me, and after awhile you start to see the same questions over and over. There were many times that I got the same question five times in a row. There is no real way to know how you are doing because after awhile, you see the same questions, you know the answers, how does that help?! I found this book and CD-ROM to be very boring, and annoying. I STRONGLY discourage anyone from buying this book. I became so fed up with this book and CD that I threw it all in the trash. Don't waste your money. The best book that I found to help you prepare for the NCLEX is Kaplans' NCLEX-RN 2000-2001. Absolutley the best book you can buy.
Rating: Summary: THIS IS TERRIFIC!!!! Review: This is the book that I studied the weekend before my nursing class tests. The format in which it is set up first gives me a total review of the subject which can be from 2-10 pages in outline form. Then it gives me all the information on which drugs I need to know for that particular subject outline. The last part of that chapter are nclex type questions with rationales (I learned sooo much from these!). I would then do questions when I was too tired for anything else off of the disc during the weekend or after I had "quiet time" to myself. I highly recommend it! :)
