Summary: Best book around on classroom management!
Review: As principal of a middle school in New Jersey, I gave every teacher in my building a copy of Harry Wong's book. It is absolutely the best in detailing daily classroom management and teaching activities that will create a positive learning environment. Every teacher needs this book!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An unequivoally enriching, insightful masterwork
Review: I can't begin to praise this book enough. Lucid, inspiring, and packed full of invaluable nuggets. With each rereading, it consistently offers up fresh rewards. Every teacher should receive a copy before they sign their first contract. I love this book so much, that in the last year, I've given 4 copies as gifts to teachers and around 12 copies as gifts to parents who are actively involved in the education of their children. This thing is practically an owner's manual for successful childrearing. Don't even question the impulse: BUY THIS BOOK IMMEDIATELY!

Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK!
Review: I went to see Dr. Wong speak last fall and it inspired me to go home and read the book cover to cover. I have NEVER read anything so concise and useful!!!! This articulate book easily explains how to be an effective instructor. This is the most important book on my bookshelf! And the most useful. Enough said. :)

Summary: great reading!
Review: Like everyone else has said, a must for any first year teacher

Summary: The one book that no teacher should every be without!
Review: Even though I have been in the classroom as a substitute teacher, teacher assistant and now have my own classroom, this book has been the BEST book I could ever have. This was given to new teachers at our orientation sessions and it answers every question you could possibly have about the first days of school. You can turn to any chapter, for example, say you have a question about how to set up your roll book for grades. Turn to the chapter, read ( and it is easy reading), and set up your grade book. There is so much I could say about this book, that it would take too long! Please take the time and invest in this book! Even if you are a veteran teacher, this is the ONE! Summary: Great book that gets down to the brass tacks of teaching.
Review: I enjoyed this book tremendously. I had Harry K. Wong for an instructor in Biology more years ago than either of us would care to admit. When I saw the book I had to get it. I am a middle-aged woman getting her teaching license and I needed help in beginning a career so late in life. This book has given me confidence and resources to get and keep me going.

Summary: I really feel prepared to teach after reading this book!
Review: This book contains all the important information you don't learn about in college! Before reading this book, I was very concerned about classroom management; I now have the courage and the confidence to face my first year of teaching!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must for not only 1st year teachers, but for all teachers.
Review: I thought I knew how to manage a classroom and work with children, but my first year was confusing. All those things they teach you in college education classes just don't work in the real world. But I came upon this book during the summer. I was amazed at all the mistakes that I had been making and could now understand why I was having problems in maintaining order. I started out the new school year with the various techniques and ideas that the authors suggest. This year is so much more organized; my classroom activities just flow, classroom control had greatly imporved, and the students seem to be learning more, as test scores climb. It has centaily made my life as an educator much easier. I especially appreciated the chapter which makes you look at yourself and see if you are merely a "teacher" or are you a motivational "educator". I have shared this book with others who have been in the profession for many years and they have all have had high praises for the book. I understand that several of the surrounding colleges are considering adding this as a text to their educational programs. I honestly feel that graduating students would be far more prepared to fact actual classroom situtations with this knowledge under their belts.

Summary: As a student teacher, this book MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
Review: In a Master of Arts in Education student, I was given this book in Classroom Management class. As a student teacher in both junior and senior high schools, it has become my most used book. Full of concise, easy to use and find tips, this guide has helped me make my classroom an effective, fun and cooperative learning environment for everyone, including myself! God bless Harry and Rosemary Wong!

Summary: I give it as a gift to new teachers
Review: This is one book that all teachers and perspective teachers should have and read. As the principal of a small rural school there is not always time to give new teachers all the hints and ideas that are important as they begin the year or their career. This book is one answer. There are so many good thoughts and ideas. I have read it myself and now give it to any new teachers we hire as well as career teachers who need to revitalize themselves in relation to teaching basics. It has been well received.
