Rating: Summary: Well rounded book Review: A well rounded book. It is one of the easiest books to read. All residents should be familiar with this book. Better than baby Miller.
Rating: Summary: An excellent first textbook in Anaesthetics. Review: An excellent "quick" review for on the spot reference. This and Mass General are with me in the operating room at all times. My first edition is dog-eared, and now my second edition is getting abused as well.
Rating: Summary: My copy is dog-eared Review: An excellent "quick" review for on the spot reference. This and Mass General are with me in the operating room at all times. My first edition is dog-eared, and now my second edition is getting abused as well.
Rating: Summary: Excellent ! Review: Excellent book, easy to read and understand. Perfect to prepare an exam. Just what you need as a all time companion book
Rating: Summary: Good Book to Start Review: Griggsby Wright, MD says:
I used an older print of this book the first six months of my
CA-1 year and thought it was helpful in transitioning into the more comprehensive texts.
I highly recommend this book for the novice as an introduction into the specialty of Anesthesiology!
Rating: Summary: Excellent for beginners and board preparation Review: I have used this book during my residency along with Paul G. Barash (clinical anesthesiolgy). This book has value no matter what stage of your residency you are at. Each and every line is important. What you get out of it in your first year is different from what you get out of it in your final year. It is very helpful for the boards . You can get tired of reading massive chapters in Miller or Barash, so instead you can do the same chapter from Morgan and get concise information. Thus you won't feel daunted when it comes time to take on the larger detailed version in Miller!! A must buy during your first year of residency, along with the massachusets hand book.
Rating: Summary: Still a great resource Review: I just updated my older, well read copy recently. This is still my favorite anesthesia resource, the book I grab when I want to refresh my memory about this or that.
No, it's not as in depth as many, but it IS easy to read, and the major points are well covered.
Whether novice or experienced practitioner, this book has much to offer.
Rating: Summary: So you're starting in anaesthesia... Review: If you are just starting in anaesthesia you will need a concise, well presented textbook. This is not the time to take on "Miller". Clinical Anesthesiology will provide you with the frame work to build a sound knowledge in anaesthesia. You will refer back to it time and time again (my copy is yellowed with age and coffee).Good luck - anaesthesia is a gas! Grant Hounsell(Registrar)
Rating: Summary: A "must have" for anesthesia Review: My absolute favorite anesthesia textbook. It is concise and very readable. A pure joy when one doesn't feel like trodding through Miller.
Rating: Summary: An excellent first textbook in Anaesthetics. Review: This book is well-presented, easy to read and, with the case scenarios presented at the end of each chapter, puts some of the most important clinical considerations in anaesthetics into a truly practical way. It is relatively small too, so that it is portable and can be referenced easily. All in all, an excellent book.
