Summary: A good editor was needed....
Review: After carefully reading the other reviews, I ordered this book with mixed expectations. Granted, there were some useful tips that I gleaned; advantages of different corporations, interesting case studies, specific write-offs.

But still, the book is lacking. I learned of this book from "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" so I expected some powerful insight. Why do I think the book falls short? Well, I checked the web site of Sage International, and a lot of the informatin in the book you can get for FREE on the site. Which then lead me to believe that the book was just Sage's promotional material. I began to question the book's objectivity when they recommended Sage several times, and also Kiyosaki's books and products. Cross promotion is fine, but I began to wonder if Kiyosaki isn't a shareholder in Sage. I'm all for capitalism, but I'd like objectivity. Also, the book is very poorly organized. It tells you why you should incorporate, and then gives good specific tax saving examples, and then later tells why you should incorporate again! Information is repeated and repeated. Many pages are filled with a recap of what was covered one page before. It seemed like they took meeting notes and made it a book. I won't even mention the typos. If I made a typo on my tax return, I couldn't get away with it. And I'm supposed to be trusting the information in this book to lead me to financial safety? I wonder. I'll take them up on their advice on double checking with local experts!

However, if you don't know much about the different sorts of businesses. This is a good place to start. It is a quick read, and easy to follow. And there are many good examples. Maybe I was just expecting too much.

Summary: Easy to Read & Understand
Review: As someone just starting out in business, I found the information easy to read and understand. It's a must for anyone thinking about going into business for themselves!

Summary: An easy read. Easy to apply
Review: As someone who is just starting out in business, I appreciated the easy to understand and easy to apply advice in this book. I also recommend The Rich Dad advisor series book by Garret Sutton as well as the exellent books by J.W.Dicks.

After talking with dozens of other successful business people and pouring over a hundred "How to incorporate" books, these are the best.

Summary: no one book will answer all the your question
Review: I am a tax prepayer of about 1000 returns. This book discusses a topic which is a very complex one. Don't think you will find one book to answer everyones question. This however is good because it covers complex strategies. I am a strategist by nature so it was a very good book which I have paid thousands of dollars taking classes on in this very topic. And here it is in one book.

After reading this book a couple times, talk it over with your CPA or attorney. Warning most of them will not understand how to do it, so be forewarned! So now you will have a conflict of stories. Great welcome to the IRS tax code. Don't get mad at your CPA or this book, call your congressman. If you been listening to the news or reading the mazagines, no two professional will agree on what is right.

So in ending I treasure my copy, and I need to read it 2 maybe 3 times and still not get it all, yet I have read and studied more books than most tax pros. It's one of those books.

If you are trying to tackle how to structure things this is a good book to get. Good luck.

Summary: Worst educational book I ever read.
Review: I cannot think of a more poorly written educational book! It was poorly structured (did the authors ever take an english writing class?). Topics didn't follow a logical flow and seemed to come out of nowhere. The book didn't go into any specifics of HOW to do something (even though a review of the table of contents show many chapters and sub-chapters with the title "How to..."). I was very disappointed and I now have more questions about how to form my business than before. In the end, they tried to convince you to hire the authors to answer all your questions. Then why would one buy the book?

Summary: A bit of a sham......
Review: I had high expectations of this book due to positive recommendations, but was extremely disappointed upon reading it. I found it to be amazingly disorganized and not very helpful. Save your money look for value elsewhere.

Summary: Wow- I had NO idea!
Review: I have seen this book recommended by others, so my roomate bought it and I read it (he's not as motivated I guess!).
Ididn't expect this book to be too interesting; I thought it would be totally referential. And after reading "Own your own Corporation" which was amazingly DULL, I expected this to be equally dull.
INC and GROW RICH is a MUCH better book to read for this topic, and told in plain, simple english. If you are building a business, at some point, you need to decide on a business structure. I firmy believe that INC and GROW RICH will help you.

Summary: Give yourself a raise--courtesy of the government!
Review: I have to admit, I was not aware of the great opportunities available courtesy of the U.S. Government untill I read this great book by C.W.Allen et all. This book is outstanding and one of the best books that I have ever read on corporations.

I also recommend Inc. Yourself by Judith McQuown, Own Your Own Corporation via the Rich Dad Advisor series and Form Your Own Corporation and Launch a Business in Any State by J.W.Dicks.

Let the government give you a tax free raise and protect your business.
