Summary: Powerful and timeless
Review: I am still amazed that such a tiny book can deliver so much powerful and timeless information. The Richest Man in Bablyon contains the secrets of the ages and is a must read book for anyone who wants financial success.

It should be read and reread, over and over.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Timeless
Review: This is a very simple and practical book on personal finance. Narrated in short stories from the ancient city of Babylon, the basic principles of handling ones personal finances have remained the same- to live within one's means, save for the rainy day and not to be greedy while looking at investment options. The advice to pay oneself first - keep aside atleast ten percent of your income and the savings set aside in prudent and safe investments multiply manifold over a long period is at the core of this book. It is not necessary that one has to be stingy to save. It is a matter of planning and personal discipline.

The stories and the characters are very interesting and is a good weekend read. This makes the book enjoyable to age groups.

Summary: Still in a class of it's own
Review: I was introduced to The Richest Man in Bablyon nearly 30 years ago. This book is still in a class of it's own. Although written in a storybook style, The Richest Man in Bablyon also provides proven success principles.

Aside from teaching how to create wealth, The Richest Man in Bablyon also teaches you how to maintain wealth. I found one idea about business saved me a bundle.

The Richest Man in Bablyon is a good read and contains powerful, powerful material that will make a difference in your personal and business life.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good book on basic finances
Review: Good book on basic financial freedom, teaching basic concepts of paying yourself first, consulting a financial planner rather than relying upon tips from friends, etc.

The book is easy to read and easy to understand.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Still a must read for all who want to be wealthy
Review: When I first started in sales 19 years ago, a good friend of mine advised me of the benefit of personal development books and suggested that I start to build a good library.

One of the first books he recommended to me was The Richest Man in Bablyon. His advise was that you can live off your income but you can't get wealthy off of income. You only get wealthy by investing, starting with that first 10% and with the proper management of money.

The Richest Man in Bablton may be a turnoff to the analytical types. Question: how are you analytical types doing financially?
Read and use the principles in this book. It will make all the difference in the world.

I also recommend The Millionaire Next Door, The Automatic Millionaire and More Wealth without Risk.

Les I forget, always remember that a lesson in wealth building is to give to recieve and the best time to start giving is when you feel you cannot afford to. It will come back to multiplied many times over.

Summary: A must read financial book
Review: The Richest Man in Bablyon is more than just a classic in the world of personal finance books, this book offers timeless, powerful advice that really works.

It's amazing that most people know about saving that first 10%, but how many do?

The Richest Man in Bablyon is written like a novel in storybook style but offers advice that really delivers. Somewhat like Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen's great book The 1 Minute Millionaire.

If you haven't read the Richest Man in Bablyon, then I highly recommend that you do. If you have read it, then I recommend that you re-read it.

I also recommend The Automatic Millionaire by David Bach and for the ladies, Smart Women Finish Rich: 9 Steps to Achieving Financial Security and Funding Your Dreams.

Summary: Don't judge this book by it's size
Review: When I first was introduced to The Richest Man in Bablyon, I was initially taken back by it's small size and wierd story. In fact, I didn't see any benefit to wasting my time with this, what appeared to be, novel by Mr. Clason.

I was at a free enterprise seminar that day where the book was being offered. At the seminar I met a very interesting individual who was touting the merits of this book. He told me that this book, The Richest Man in Bablyon was a must read for anyone who wants financial success and peace of mind.

He talked about tithing. I didn't understand tithing at that time. I felt that I was the one who needed to recieve money, not give it. This man told me that the more I gave away, the more that would return to me. Try it, he said.

So I tried it--tithing. I increased my contributions to my church
and I came across a girl scout selling girl scout cookies. Normally I would have refused this young lady, this time I didn't.

I also began investing the first 10% of my income and paid myself first. What happened.

At first nothing. But shortly afterwards opportunities started to come to me. I went from deeply in debt to out of debt. I went from a 4 year old Ford Pinto to a new Mercury Monarch. I increased my tithings. 3 months later my business had grown even more and now I was driving a Lincoln Mark V (this was in 1977)

The principles in this book work. Don't let the size of this book fool you. Great book that really works--if you use it.

Summary: A very powerful book that really delivers
Review: I took the advice of another reader who suggested that the three best financial books are:The Millionaire Next DoorMore Wealth Without RiskandThe Richest Man in BablyonThese three books will put you on the fast track to financial success.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must read for all future and current wealth builders
Review: The Richest Man is an oldie but goodie. It deals with basics, saving the first 10% of what you make and tithing. It's written in a storybook style that some self styled analytical and sophisticated types won't like, but I have personally met a dozen millionaires who attribute reading this book to creating wealth and financial independence.

This book is easy enough and short enough to be read in one night. I recommend that you read it every nite for a month untill the ideas seep into both your conscious and subsconcious mind.

Other good reading includes The Millionaire Next Door, The Millionaire Mind, More Wealth Without Risk, Ordinary People Extraordinary Wealth, The Automatic Millionaire and The Truth About Money 3rd edition.

Summary: Timeless advice that really works
Review: I first heard of this book back in 1986 when I attended a seminar by the great Jim Rohn. If you don't know who Rohn is, he is a businessman that amassed a million dollar fortune lost it but later regained it. He attributes his ability to hold on to his wealth due to the concepts taught in The Richest Man in Bablyon.

Rohn said "making money is the easy part. Hanging on to that wealth is the hard part." Rohn went on to say that his mentor Earl Shove recommended three books for him to read; Think & Grow Rich, How To Win Friends and Influence People and The Richest Man in Bablyon. Rohn recommended all three of those books to us as well.

If you have read the other reviews, then ayou already know that this book is about saving and tithing. Many people say that they laready know that so why read a book. My usual response is, are you doing it? The response is usually---no.

I make it a habit of re-reading this book at least once a year, typically around the start of the new year. I never fail to get reinspired and pick up an idea or two.

If you haven't read this book, I highly recommend it along with the other books recommended by Jim Rohn; Think & Grow Rich and How To Win Friends and Influence People. I also recommend Jim Rohns books and audio tape programs which are available here at Amazon and via Nightengale-Conant.

The Richest Man in Bablyon can make all the diference in your financial life. I hope you read it and prosper with the information.
