Summary: A Must for Reading Teachers
Review: This is an awesome book! If you want to really help students improve in reading, then you've got to have it. I teach LD students, and I have seen the biggest difference in the level of comprehension among my students since I have started using the strategies outlined in the book. If you haven't read it, you will wonder how you ever taught reading without it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great support for literacy instruction!
Review: This is the best book I have yet read on teaching reading to middle and upper grades. If you are new to balanced literacy, this is a must-have! Even experienced teachers will find it to be a useful resource book. It is filled with strategies that will help you go from whole-class novel studies or basals into smaller, guided reading groups. This book goes beyond Mosaic of Thought to give wonderfully explicit details on strategies you can use in your classroom. I heartily recommend it to middle and upper grade teachers.
