Review: I read this book and nison`s book candlestick techniques 2nd edition. This book is not as detailed as nison`s and the last third of the book i thought had more to do with investment strategies and money management. That being said it does address candlestick trading more directly without alot of useless words. If you are ever in a bookstore and can compare this book to nison`s you will see the difference. I would say nison`s book rambles on too much and this is a smoother read. Buy it if you can get it for a good used price.

Review: I was totaly new to forex trading. This book gave a good quick start. Unfortunately there seems to be a good lot of common sense to be used with the candlestick forex trading which are only limited mentioned. I was surprised how some patterns have the described effect nearly every time.
One subject which was not very efficient was the description of the patterns : Some information was distributed randomly over the page instead categorized as the author intended to. If the author would have been consistant with categorizing, it would be an excellent reference book for the beginner.
A summary of all the patterns sorted by Up trend change, Down trend change and ignore categories on about 3 fold out pages would improve the book as well ( It would save it doing it by yourself )..

Review: If you have experimented with candlestick charting with mixed results then read this book! Mr. Bigalow not only details reversal and continuation patterns, He goes into the investor psychology and criteria behind them. He teaches his readers how to apply western indicators to maximize and enhance the signals.
I have now switched all my charts over to candlesticks and can tell a promising set up at a glance.

Review: If your commited to learning and using candlesticks in your trading this book is not as complete as nisons book Japanese Candlestick Charting. This book gives briefer explanations and does not have as many examples or detailed commentary. Also there are sections of this book that have nothing to do with candleticks which i found useless. When you look at the used prices for this book and nisons they are almost equal, so why buy this one? It is PALE in comparison!

Review: Nisson wrote 3 books. all the same with different titles with a lot of useless talk. Anyway you would find many better candlesatick web pages if you want to save money like StockCharts.com. While these books and that web displays the main ones. There is actually hundreds of them and hundreds of web sites about them.
I bought this book to see trading strategy confirming Elliot waves with candle sticks pattern.. You could also use Key reversal. Open-Close reversal, Hook reversal, closing price reversals,pivotpoint and islands reversals only found at incrediblecharts.com. Tony Carbel book is out of print. Another sort term reversal/continuation pattern is gaps. Nisson thinks he invented candle sticks. I don't suggest ebook download with activation problem in Acrobat 6 web site. If it doesn't work, you don't get your money back.

The book not only demystifies the candlestick but, more importantly,explains in a transparent manner how to interpret candlestick patterns. Stock charts will come alive after reading this book.

Review: Steven's book is very informative and kept near by for reference frequently. His web site is also awesome and you won't believe how timely his communication/feedback is when you ask! I paid for this book with one trade that was avoided now that I know what to do when the big bad doji is seen at the top of the trading stochastics.
