Rating: Summary: Copycat Material Review: Another candlestick book that gets almost all of its material from Steve Nison's candlestick books. Mr. Bigalow has taken Mr.Nison's work and ideas (Mr. Nison was the first to reveal candlesticks to the West) without so much as acknowledging this. This book just adds another indicator to the candlesticks without much new insight. Mr.Nison's books are considered THE bibles of candlesticks. My feeling is if you are going to by a book on candlesticks, why not go to the master?
Rating: Summary: sure buy Review: been trading for three years and bought over a thousand dollars of books on tech anal. including pring, murphy, nison, and so on.if you want to learn the best approach buy the book.good luck.
Rating: Summary: Careful, this is just another candlesticks book Review: I bought the digital book after reading glowing reviews in the amazon.com site. The book contains detailed descriptions on a large number of candelstick patterns. But that is about it. While beginners may find value in the book, advanced users of technicals with knowledge of candlesticks patterns may not get much out of reading it. At least, I did not.
Rating: Summary: Candlesticks Clarified Review: I have been fascinated by candlesticks for years but I never had the knowledge or confidence to properly apply the candlestick methodology until I read "Profitable Candlestick Charting". In the past I would see what I thought was a candlstick pattern, but I was never quite sure of the implication of the pattern. Steve Bigalow not only clearly explains how to recognize each reversal or continuation candlestick pattern, but also shows how candlsticks depict the battle between the buyers and sellers and how quickly the market's perception of a stock can change and be recognized by candlestick analysis. Most importantly, he shows how to combine candlestick analysis with stochastics to not only set up high probability trades, but also establishes clear entry and exit rules to limit losses and maximize profits on those trades. In summary, a superb book which brings objectivity to a subjective subject.
Rating: Summary: The Best Trading Book I've read yet! Review: I have been trading off and on for five years. I have read books by Larry Williams & Tom DeMark. I have studied numerous articles in Futures Magazine. I found Stephen Bigalow's book to be the finest so far. He provides excellent examples that allow you to learn the interpretation of candlestick charts. I am putting it into practive immediately and will let you know how it goes! Also a very informative chapter on the Ultimate Investment plan. That alone could be worth the price of the book to those of you with $100,000 in a stock account!
Rating: Summary: Top Trading Book Review: I have read at least 150 trading books in the last 5 years, jumping from one idea to another, looking for a plan I can feel comfortable with for short-term trading. Stephen Bigalow's book is at the top of my list. Steve supplies excellent descriptions and examples of the major and minor candlestick signals as well as a psychological explanation of them. In addition, this book, unlike other candlestick books I have read, provides a complete trading method for short, intermediate, or long-term traders/investors including money management techniques. A method (unique in my experience)for dealing with the trader's emotions is also described. The book makes candlestick charting understandable for both novice and experienced individuals. I believe the book provides a very readable and useful guide to profiting from the market.
Rating: Summary: IF YOU WANT TO BE A PROFITABLE TRADER READ THIS BOOK Review: I have read most of the books availabe on candlesticks and this is by far the BEST. By providing the psychology behind the signals the candles were much easier to retain and utilize. Not only is this book comprehensive but it actualy provides a trading method that produces profits in trading. You'll want to read this book and keep it handy as a constant reference. I know I do.....
Rating: Summary: Candlesticks Revealed Review: I have read several books on candlestick formations and signals. This book has to rate as the best, every candle and pattern is explained in a logical sequence but the best is the psychology of the bulls and bears is revealed to the reader. Each candle comes alive, not only is the pattern recognised but the uderlying interaction of the market forces are there for the reader, as though a cloud has been lifted from a dull scene. The Japanese signals are combined with Stochastics but in a simple manner allowing the reader to increase his knowledge and effectiveness of the signals. You will never be puzzled by the chart patterns after reading this book.
Rating: Summary: Javajoe (Connecticut) Review: I purchased Stephen Bigalow's book, "Profitable Candlestick Trading", some eight months ago, and found it extremely valuable. The most important point I learned is that candlesticks are nothing to be feared. Stephen cuts through all the mystery and rhetoric surrounding candlesticks with clear, down-to-earth, factual explanations. He further lays out candlestick trading rules to establish a workable trading program. You won't find a better educational investment.
Rating: Summary: Worth a read Review: I read this book and nison`s book candlestick techniques 2nd edition, i noticed this book had no reference or explanation of a tweezer top and bottom reversal, which is an important pattern. Although the book is not as detailed as nison`s it is still quite sufficient. The last third of the book i thought had more to do with investment strategies. If you are ever in a bookstore and can compare this book to nison`s you will see the difference and judge for yourself. Still this book does give better examples than nison`s if your into combining candlesticks with stochastics. All in all a good read.
