Summary: Great Reading
Review: I found the information in this book to be practical, comprehensive and valuable. Most investors and traders could apply its teachings, regardless of strategy. I'm impressed by the material, which is presented in a comprehensive manner. The author describes how to make the whole trading process work to your advantage. It educates both beginners and experienced investors and explore many methods to beat the market.

Summary: The - REAL - McCoy
Review: This should be required reading at trading schools. I could have saved a ton of money just buying this book, JJ Murphy and A Elder. These books will make an advanced trader out of anyone. Thanks to Farley for getting this to print. The book succeeds despite a slow start. You have to be patient with the first chapter or two, in order to get to the "meat" of the message. Frankly, I doubt he could have put together this information in any other way. Good Job! I found this book to be practical, comprehensive and valuable. I was impressed by the level of detail and the psychological aspects the author presents. This is an excellent investment and trading tool.

Summary: Very Thorough Piece of Work
Review: This book offers a great one-shot reference to the vast array of swing trading tactics. This may be the only book to achieve this so far. The mathematics are kept simple and there is a strong focus on pattern reading. Not everyone's cup of tea, but certainly mine. I would have liked more formulas and indicators in the text, but you can't have everything.

This is not for beginners because it assumes a lot of prior knowledge. Most traders I talk to who have read it either love it or hate it. I definitely found it memorable and right on the money. It introduces readers to market forces that other writers have chosen to ignore. I believe the insights are accurate and very humbling.

In my opinion, Farley's book is the most in-depth and informative book to come out on the topic. As someone who has studied the markets for the better part of two decades, I learned a lot from this book.

Summary: This Book Is Not For Independent Minds
Review: Few of my personal criteria for a good book are: 1. The author, at the least, makes sure that every terminology or concept that is not commonly used in a specific subject matter should be defined clearly; 2. The author makes sure that any claim or statement made in a publication should be backed up by common sense factual proof; 3. The author should clearly define the upside and the downside of any design, invention or method that author claims to be valuable. 4. Not only I would feel that I have learned something new and valuable, also it would inspire me to explore more, especially in my own way.

Unfortunately, this book is the worst I had ever seen. Firstly, I don't see anything original in this book, in any common sense of "originality." Unless in some very small circles that I don't know. Secondly, I don't know whether or not the author has any background in Psychology, Physics etc., etc., but rest assured the author dares to borrow any terminology or concept from those fields which are totally ill-understood in the book Thirdly, the only so-called "new inventions," such as "Farley's ADA," and "Seven Bells," could hardly stand any further testing, except for THE few stocks in THE few "special" timeframes, purposely selected by the author. This "trick" by certain authors has made a very bad name for the true spirit of Technical Analysis thus far.

It is my opinion, that if you are independently-minded, or you are not a "Slave Swing Trader" and you don't intend to be one, then this book is not for you.

Summary: Good Job - Recommended
Review: This book has a lot to say and does it well. It explains the in's and out's of swing trading, and is a "must have" if you're interested in beating the market. It is essential for anyone who wants to understand how price patterns form and how to predict breakouts. This definitely opens up a path to trading like a pro.

This is not a get-rich-quick type book. It requires practice, patience and a commitment to absorbing advanced concepts on numbers and crowd participation. A wonderful and informative read.

Summary: Read it twice and starting it the for third time
Review: This book really struck home for me and I just completed a second reading. Its a reference text that I will keep close to my trading terminal. If you want a new perspective on trading, buy this book. But it's not an easy book to read, especially if you're in a hurry. Pass on it unless you have the time to give it your full attention.

I think The Master Swing Trader will be recognized as an important milestone on market tactics many years down the road.

Summary: Deep and Informative Material. Highly Recommended.
Review: I got so much out of this book that I wanted to strongly recommend it to everyone. It is a very well crafted study of pattern based trading strategies, written from a very original view. Yes, maybe there is a bit of repetition here and there but I found it reinforced the concepts and gave me greater insight into the material. There is nothing shallow at all here. The content is very deep and informative. Almost every sentence gave me something urgent to think about.

This is no "Cliff Notes" or "Classics Illustrated" version of TA or trading. It is a major work that requires the reader's full attention.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not the holy grail but real close
Review: The author has a unique talent for getting inside the price bars and explaining what might be going on just under the surface. He gave me a perspective on technical analysis that I had never seen before. I think he accomplished this quite successfullly. This original piece has helped me grow as a trader and I am grateful. It contains some highly unique and effective methods for taking money out of the market.

Summary: Solid Work
Review: This is among the best trading books I have read over the past 11 years as an investor and a trader. It describes many facets of this complex business and brings out many new thoughts on the subject matter. Although it begins with broad theory, the entire middle section is full of practical applications, written with the benefit of a professional trader's years of experience.

I strongly recommend the investment of time and money needed to obtain, read and study this informative text.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Too many words, too little editing
Review: This book suffers greatly for lack of good editing. Too many arcane terms are used throughout, with no definitions. Too many run-on phrases are used to name concepts with little clarification. It's very difficult to get what the author is trying to say. Then it gets repetitive, as if repeating the same gibberish would bring clarity. I was disappointed. I found it verbose, poorly written and having little to add to the mountain of books on technical analysis. I would expect a better offering from McGraw Hill. Mr. Farley should make sure that a good editor is assigned to his next effort.
