Review: Towering over the ever-growing underbrush of mediocre textbooks, "Life" is an excellent book that thoroughly uncovers the richness and complexity of biological science. Consistently approached from a scientific viewpoint, the topics are presented in great detail without sacrificing clarity that is required for introductory texts. The illustrations are numerous and beautiful; they are instructive in and of themselves. I began to use this book as a supplement for a mediocre text in an intro biology course, but very soon I used it exclusively. If you want a great biology text, BUY THIS BOOK.
