Rating: Summary: BLECH! Review: This is an inferior text-book. I haven't the faintest idea why seemingly every college in America chooses this book. Stewart's tome is replete with "eye-candy" and is inconsistant. He explains some things rigorously and others intuitavely. If your univerisity uses this text, I hope you have a good professor.
Rating: Summary: Calculus at its finest Review: This is by far the best math text I have ever used. I find the examples adaquate, theorems well explained and homework problems challenging however possible. The main reason I love this book is that it does its job - it teaches you calculus in an easy to understand manner, while letting you see the power of calculus through many well done applications. I finished both Calc I & II with A+ grades solely from learning straight out of the text (I'm not a fan of 8:30 class). Just make sure you pick up the solution manuals along with the text.
Rating: Summary: Best of the Best Review: This is THE calculus book. I'd consider this to be a classic work. No other calculus book I've seen gives such a thorough and accessible treatment of material. From intriguing problems to clear proofs of every major theorem...plus many worked examples will make calculus fun and enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: An excellent and thorough introduction to Calculus. Review: This textbook delivers everything that a student could ask for - clear explanations, applicable worked examples and wording that can actually keep ones interest (an amazing feat for a math textbook!).
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Very good book and it will make calculs really interesting for you.
