Rating: Summary: None so blind as those who can see. Review: Everything I wanted to say about this book has already been said here - ad nauseum - but somehow, people still don't get it. Read the reviews here. Look at the number of people who found the 'glowing' reviews useful and then see how many DIDN'T find the truth about this book and its author(s) useful. Ever wonder why so many lose trading? It's all right here within these review pages. Some people just want to see and hear what they want even when the truth is staring them in the face. The author(s) state that 'Master' traders find the 'greater fool' and then sell to him/her. The condescending prose of this book reveal that these guys have now graduated. They now know where the 'greatest number' of 'greater fools' are and have moved beyond the securities markets. They are 'Masters'. Who then, do you think the greater fools might be?
Rating: Summary: My Review Review: The first half is entertaining. But, the real stuff comes at the half of the book. I would have liked it better if it came with more tools and discussions of various strategies. Ignore the references to Pristine.com. Take what you can get from this book and use your own judgement. I don't agree with everything these guys have to say, so be cautious with applying their technics. If you want to save some money buy Toni Turner's book, "A Beginner's Guide to Daytrading Online." It even has more tactics for a 1/3 of the price of Velez & Capra's book.
Rating: Summary: Evidence is golden Review: Hollywood is everpresent...particularly on Wall Street with major firms...and particularly this book...investors should do a little due dilligence and use common sense...if you go to the author's website www.pristine.com and check out the performance...the results are worse than the flip of a coin...although the book is well written...it means nothing unless the authors can prove themselves like any other mutual or hedge fund has to do in terms of their performance...these people are simply selling into greed and the ignorance of those who simply do not know better. I am sure that market makers could care less about checking a chart pattern before they make a move.and furthermore, a monkey is not showing any brilliance when the dart he threw at the stock pages hit a stock that went up that day..it could have just as easily been a chart association. Hollywood once more guys..nothing of real substance...
Rating: Summary: Entertainment Can Get Expensive Review: I have bought every trading book, and will continue to buy every book that I can get my hands on in order to pick up strategies that are new and useful in that I trade for a living. I have found that there is a form of human gratification in seemingly calling the direction because of a supposed association such as a chart picture. Looking at Pristine's record, it appears that a monkey throwing darts at a newspaper could also associate his dart throwing the same as Pristine does chart pictures, which seems to happen less than the flip of a coin when looking at their performance record shown on the web. I firmly believe marketmakers really control the short term trading market and they could care less about charts. Just imagine a marketmaker checking with Pristine about their opinion about a chart before he makes his next move. I guess Pristine has a red market maker phone on their desk? I don't think so. On the other hand, I do like the fact that these guys are trying to do something other than slamming down beer and sausages watching football reruns.
Rating: Summary: Finally....A book that makes sense.... Review: Your new book, "Tools and Tactics For The Master Trader" is one of the best things I have ever purchased in my trading career. It is the most incredible text of all times. The things that you cover in this book touch on so many problems facing traders today. I am guilty of each item that you outlined. I have spent the last two days looking around my office for the microphone that you must have hidden in here in order to be able to describe me in such detail in your book. The time and detail that you have included is a direct reflection of the dedication that you have in helping others succeed. In my case, I will never be able to properly 'Thank You' for the guidence and education that you have provided to me. I have implemented many of the stragedies that you have outlined and now I will be working on the hesitation to pull the trigger problems that I face each day. You have helped me understand where those problems are and how to work on them. My hat is off to you guys, and I wish you well in everything that you and your company does. With all my graditude, Joe
Rating: Summary: Five Stars!!! Review: It was by far the best book I have ever read on trading and trust me, if there is a book out there, I have it in my library.
Rating: Summary: I would not recommend this book Review: This book is full of sales pitches and strategies that I doubt could be proven profitable by backtesting. I have been a swing trader and daytrader for years. I have spent countless hours developing trading systems and testing various strategies before I would use them for actual trading. If the strategies in this book really work, I would love to see the backtesting results for them in the book. The author's site has expanded from 1-2 simple advisory services years ago to a super-market of advisory services nowadays. Are they here to help you learn the profitable way of trading ? or do they feel like selling more advisory services would make them more money than trading for themselves ?
Rating: Summary: incredible results using pristine taught tactics Review: after losing over $35,000 in the market before finding pristine, i was very distrusting of any offered services... i feel compelled to say that since i have been a subscriber to pristine services, taken their seminars and studied their newly published book, i have more than made up for those past losses and very rarely lose in the market at all anymore... the strategies they teach are incredibly reliable... dont be fooled by their incredible excitement to promote themselves v.s. what is the "REAL DEAL"... anyone with any discipline can do extremely well with just a couple of their taught strategies... i have over a 85% success rate using mosty 3 tactics they teach... in the past 3 months alone i have only had 1 losing day and with all long plays in a very whippy market... pristine has changed my life.
Rating: Summary: Wade Cook the Second Review: Unfortunately, I am one of those American suckers who ate every little bit of pie Mr. Velez was feeding the crowd...I find his talk very slick and persuasive...however the performance cost me over $150,000...Thanks to Mr. Capra & Velez...it will be a long time before I retire...someone ought to retire them....such as the NASD or the SEC....
Rating: Summary: Disappointing sales hype disguised as a book Review: This book refers to the need to buy from the authors' web site no less than 26 times in the book! It is ridiculous, the book is actually an advertisement to try and lure people in to buy the authors' overpriced chat room and other services. I tried to look for some redeeming features in the book, and could find none. Buy Toni Turner' book or Coopers' "Hit and Run Trading" etc., but stay away from this sales pitch book.
