Summary: Gung Ho! is fantastic. At long last, ANSWERS!
Review: I saw Ken Blanchard's Gung Ho! special on PBS and I was motivated to get the book. In three weeks this book has turned my whole attitude around and it is making a real difference in the department where I work. My boss had made it clear that we had to improve but until I read Gung Ho! I had no idea how I was actually going to do it. I'm a woman and some of these guys had been dead at work so long they didn't need embalming. It wasn't a task I thought I was going to win on. But Gung Ho! has done it. The dead have arisen and the department is starting to catch fire.

Gung Ho Ken Blanchard and your co-author too.

Summary: Proven Results
Review: With the steps outlined in this book, my sales organization was able to exceed its 3 month sales goal by 14% or 1.3 million dollars. Outstanding considering we had not hit a goal in years! I will take what I learned everywhere in the future!

This was a great read!

Thanks

Summary: Bowles lives up to the Gung Ho! principles
Review: I must admit, I was at first a bit skeptical of this title's "Native American wisdom" -- talk about squirrels and geese . . . however, because co-author Sheldon Bowles unselfishly provided guidance to us as we edited our own book, "Bubba on Business" (also available at Amazon.com), I forged ahead. What I found was an amazingly practical book, filled not with vague "principles" but solid, actionable ideas. In our consulting business, we have found no better articulation of these straightforward ideas than Blanchard and Bowles' Gung Ho! Watch out, though -- if you apply Gung Ho's learnings, it will change your business and your personal life. Kudos from someone who's a fairly skeptical reader of so-called leadership books. This one's not on the top shelf with my "show off" titles, but down where I can reach it again and again. It's really worth buying.

Summary: Gung Ho Is A Must Read
Review: I kept seeing Gung Ho! on the bestseller lists (New York Times and Wall Street Journal are the two I noticed) and so I decided to read it. Best decision I've made in a long time. This book has re-energized my business life and it's now doing the same for everyone in the department. Do yourself a favor and read this book if you want to be successful. It's easy to read. The authors have put it all into a handful of pages and the type is big! My kind of book. And it's Tom Peter's too. On the cover he is quoted: "This book will revolutionize any organization which adopts it, and those that don't won't survive. It's that simple." I agree with Mr. Peters.

Summary: WOW!!!!!!! Gung Ho Friend :)
Review: What a truly energizing book for any business. I read the book and passed it on to the other leaders in my building and now I have people coming to work early because they are so excited to be there!! I am so excited. Soon my building will be high-fiving eachother saying, "Gung Ho Friend!!" Truly a must read in the business industry.

Summary: Every CEO, employee, and manager should read this book.
Review: Everyone reading this book has to agree that it hits home in every aspect of business practices. Why companies and people don't apply these principles or even think about them until it's to late and the business is failing is beyond belief.

Summary: Why did we need someone to tell us?
Review: After reading this book, all I can say is that there must be quite a few embarassed managers out there. The Gung Ho concept is so simple, it seems that educated people shouldn't have needed someone to put it in writing for them. The 3 basic principles described in the book are things always talked about in management meetings, but they just aren't put into practice enough.

This book is a must read for anyone (management or not) who would one day like to work in the best organization in the country. Unbelievably Motivational!!!!

Summary: Outstanding!
Review: As a US Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, I've attended more classes and read more books on leadership and management than I care to admit. This single book contains more practical information than most of what I've encoutered so far combined. If I were allowed only one leadership/management text for my professional library, this would undoubtably be it.

Summary: A New How-To on Working with Spirit
Review: I'm a slow reader and I read this book in a weekend-actually in one day! Not a novel, but it's a real page turner. Did you ever notice how some of the best, most enduring business titles are deceptively short and simple books told in the form of a parable or story? I'm already using this book in my coaching and corporate training company, and I'm recommending it to all my friends. Blanchard stormed the business world 15 years ago with the popular One Minute Manager. Raving Fans got us turned on to customer service, and now Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles have done it again. In short, this book is about work based on values and done with real spirit. It draws on the Native American insights of Andy Longclaw and vividly paints a picture of what business could be. You will run through this book, then want to work back through it again (or listen to the cassette version). Customize the concepts to fit your own business, and watch what happens! You might be able to write your own book in a few years. Be aware that this book shares wisdom, not faddish fix-its, and sets honest expectations. Real turnaround in large organizations takes 1-3 years, not 1-2 quarters. No quick turn-around remedies offered here. But what a recipe for getting to the soul of work! Gung Ho to you, as you learn about the Spirit of the Squirrel, Way of the Beaver, and Gift of the Goose.
