Rating: Summary: This is the book for CFA preparation Review: OK -- so you want to be a CFA. Then you probably will need to buy this book and you might even be told where to get it. Maybe you don't want to be a CFA -- then you will find that out reading this book. The point is -- this book covers the fundamentals of investing from a professional institutional investor's framework (or an MBA in finance student) and does a very good job of it -which is why this has been (and probably still is) a required text.
Rating: Summary: infomative Review: One of the finest text books written for the college student. In depth analysis and a fine analytical writting style. Very up-to-date information for the serious analysis and investment management professional or student. Keep up the good work guys!!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: The author using good examples explained the investment concepts and pratice method thoroughly. Excellent book to read.
Rating: Summary: Good introductory book, but a little bit dry Review: The book covers so many concepts in finance and investing, from stock, bonds to derivatives. Accordingly, it lacks the in-depth discussion needed for the advanced readers. No one can do in-depth analysis for all topics in just one book.Although a little bit dry, this book is reasonably good for the beginners in finance.
Rating: Summary: Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management
by Frank K. Re Review: The goal of this book, i.e.,Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management by Frank K. Reilly is to help you learn how to manage your money to derive the maximum benefit from what you earn. Mixing investment instruments and capital markets with the theoretical detail on evaluating investments and opportunities to satisfy risk-return objectives along with how investment practice and theory is influenced by globalization leaves readers with the mindset on investments to serve them well.
Rating: Summary: theory is middle but problm is fantastic!!! Review: this book is adequate to CFA exam. the theory is a little bit vague but the problem is good to CFA OR CMA exam
Rating: Summary: Sophisticated Text Review: This is required text for the CFA program and many business schools' security analysis curricula. This is an excellent text for advanced/professional investors and is not intended for the average do-it yourselfer.
Rating: Summary: Caution: Paperback edition is Student Study Guide! Review: Watch out: the "paperback edition" is not the textbook itself, it is a Student Study Guide. You may want both, but don't buy the study guide under the impression you are getting the book itself.
Rating: Summary: Excellent compendium of theory and practice Review: Whether encountered through an MBA equity analysis course or the CFA program, Investment Analysis will be an indispensable reference book for investment analysts, fund managers, and finance professionals for years to come. Although it is not an introductory finance text, it covers most of the basics. The book also delves on esoterica about derivatives, value investing, hydrid securities, and hedging. All in all, Investment Analysis is a good textbook that will be appreciated by academics, professionals and students alike.
