Summary: Joe Karbo...one cool dude.
Review: In the early 70's I met Joe in a meeting. He was brillient, an interesting man. He had alittle bit of the schepille this is so easy you're just about crazy to pass on it. I read his book twice a year since 1974. My life is rich far beyoud my expectations. He doesn't tell you how as much as allow you to find you own way. This book is a classic, this book is simple, this books work.

Summary: You lazy book!
Review: Lazy Man? It'll take a little more effort than that to get rich. And that's where this book comes in handy. Using a psychological practice called Dyna/Psych, the author attempts to get your brain working towards your goals, and not against them. Highly powerful and useful techniques! As a matter of fact, I tried the method of "Super Suggestion" out to get myself to sleep better... and now I have a harder time waking up. Great stuff. However, the author, in the later chapters, gets into some lenghthy explanations about running a business. Being only 18, I didn't find any of that mumbo-jumbo interesting. It was tiring, in fact, and not all that "motivating." But if you ARE trying to sell some sort of widget, then read it all. Yes, every word, because it's written with intent to help, and that's exactly what it CAN do. Of course, this was a self-help book about making money written almost thirty years ago. Out-dated? Absolutely. But the part about the brain is not. And that's what you should get out of this book.

Summary: Gives a simple process for goal setting
Review: People tend to become what they think about all the time or almost all the time (as in a dominant thought). Joe Karbo explains how to invent affirmations for yourself which work. He encourages you to repeat these written ideas at least twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. By setting and saying these affirmations designed to gradually improve all areas of your life, you can become more successful in both your professional, business life and in your personal, family life. This process worked for Karbo and in some cases it took repeating the same idea year in and year out for the idea to actually materialize. Persistence paid off. One surprising hint Karbo provided in my view was that he said affirmations are more effective when written in the present tense vs some other tense so as to engage the imagination and the subconscious mind, for example, someone who was starting at the low end of the economic ladder would write a financial affirmation like "I am a millionaire" or someone who wanted a better relationship with his wife would write "I am a loving and kind husband." That style of expression tended to engage the process which turns an idea into reality.

Summary: Dreaming don't pay the bills.
Review: The book was a fare read. After applying the strategies and adding some belief I expected some positive results. However, as is true of most books like this, it all resulted in nothing but a let down. The second part of the book is about starting a mail-order business from your kitchen table. That didn't work either, as it costs more time and money than was indicated. I guess this book was written when people lived simpler lives and a dollar was worth a dollar. The book probably sold very well by mail-order. I guess if you write your own book on mail-order and find a way to promote it so today's society will bite, you too could take the lazy man's way to riches. Lots of luck.

Summary: My Pot O Gold
Review: The Lazy Man has become my Pot O Gold. It has brought me Riche$ just like it said it would. My boss told me about this book last year so I got it and like Nixon says, when the student is ready the teacher will appear. I have read it several times and it gets better each time. I have doubled my income since applying the lessons and i am now out of debt for the first time since the twins were born. It has lots of lessons that we use every day and they work so easy you won't believe it until you try it like i did. Using one of the lessons i was able to pay cash for our new Gold Lexus, it was actually a demo, my new license plate says lazyman2.

Summary: Do Yourself A Favor! Get the Revised Lazy Man's Way
Review: This book packs a double good punch!

The first is that it is the best personal growth-self help book I've ever read. Seriously. I am a self-help junkie with a large success library of self-help books and the Lazy Man Way to Riches Revised is my favorite by far!

Karbo and Nixon revised the original 70's "Lazy Man", which was great, into this true classic that works for today's world. It still has everyword of the original in it, but it also now has more up to date ideas and suggestions. Their style is simple and direct, easy to read and understand and it has tons of wonderful motivational quotes! Everyone loves a good quote!

Now here is the best thing about it ... it's easy to apply to my life so I can actually achieve the goals I set - not just read how to achieve them. Karbo and Nixon are like the wise old owls in the woods. Their wealth of experience and information about how to "get from where you are to where you want to be" has all been pulled together and put into this book. I have already made some long overdue changes needed in my life.
I'm on my 3rd reading and I find great new stuff each time I read it. It's highlighted in 3 different colors now .(Combined with the workbook that goes along with the "Lazy Man", I feel this is the best self help program ever because it helps me apply what I am learning..)

I really bought the book for the self-help part. I didn't even think about the second part of the book when I ordered it. I have to tell you - the second part of the book was a fantastic surprise. I am in sales and didn't think I had anything to learn, but I learned so much from the first part of the book I figured it wouldn't hurt to read the second half.

I'm glad I did because I learned alot from the second part of the book, which is really about direct response marketing. I don't do mail order, but I found the selling and marketing principles more helpful than any other sales or business book I've read. The part on ad writing is worth the price of the book alone. Much of the information in the second part of the book is dated, but the basic selling and marketing principles are timeless and work in today's world just as well. I am now using those principles to help build my Internet business!

Summary: A watered down rewrite of what WAS a fantastic read.
Review: Why Nixon was compelled to destroy the meaning and content of the original Joe Karbo text is a mystery. The concise power of the original text truly changed my life. I bought this copy to share with someone (Amazon refuses to do searches for used copies of the original). It was a big disappointment. Buy Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill instead. You won't be sorry.

Summary: The coolest book on the internet
Review: With its low-budget, DIY cover and it's too good to be true title, this guide looks like it's all hype, maybe even a scam. And if I remember correctly, the very effective ad for it ran in sensationalist tabloids and other places you wouldn't perhaps take too seriously for finding life-changing tools. But the fact is this little manual combines the techniques of affirmations, subconscious programming, visualization, self-hypnosis and using intuition, all in a few simple steps, all in about the first 60 pages. I'm convinced, based on my experiences and reading and studying more well-known, less simple books, that the stuff in here will work for anybody, as long as they do it every day. Joe Karbo was a true maverick who personified the American entrepreneurial spirit. This book is a beautiful thing.
