Summary: I Think This is the Book to Buy from Orman
Review: I did a brief review and posted it here on Amazon.com of her other popular book "Road to Wealth". I was not impressed with the other book, since it was similar to her shows being questions and answers.

The present effort is much better and I would recommend 4 stars and buying this book.

The book is well organized and has lots of comments and a step by step retirement planner.

Summary: Undoubtably Suze's best work to date!
Review: I have read al ot of praise for Suze's other books, in particular 9 Steps to Financial Freedom, The Courage to Be Rich and The Road To Wealth but I feel that this is undoubtably Suze's best work, even better tha 9 Steps and far better than The Road To Wealth.

Everytime Suze pumps out a new book she continues to surprise and impress me with her vast wealth of knowledge and easy writing sytle.

I bought The Laws of Money right along with The Automatic Millionaire, another great book.

Books by the financial savvy like Orman and Bach cannot be recommended highly enough. Be wary of financial books written by non financial people who are merely writers and have no real financial credentials to speak of.

Summary: Could not have been written at a better time
Review: I love this book. I find it to be very valuable information that I can use NOW. Suze once again writes a book that everyone can understand. I think everyone will be able to relate to one or more of the stories in this book. Chapter Four has really given me insight to the every changing financial world and has made me less afraid to take action with my money.

Summary: The Laws of Money
Review: I loved this book becuase Suze gave clear cut steps to help me determine if I shuold keep or sell my investments. It was a quick read and included a quidebook so I could put the plans in Suze's book into immediate action. It was like getting 2 books in one. The stories in the book I could really could relate too -- just like Suze was speaking to me. This book is written for everyone if your a novice investor, not invested at all, or an expert investor.

Summary: She is on CNBC with Cramer - isn't that bad enough?
Review: I read one of her books at the library and was not impressed. I skimmed through this one at Borders and it was more of the same. She reminds me of that Susan Powder (sp?) woman with the short hair who was an exercise guru. What ever happened to her?

There are more than a few really bright women in finance. Suze and Maria Bartoromo are not among them.

Summary: Don't Bother - Waste of Money
Review: I read this book hoping to learn something new and of value. Instead I learned how television celebrities are all hype and no substance. Nothing she says in her writing was useful to me. Everything she offers is well-known common sense financial advice available for free from almost any financial website.

If you want some good sound financial advice, here's some:

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS BOOK!

Summary: Ridiculous Pap
Review: Let us rewind back to the heady days of the bull market, the height of the internet bubble, NASDAQ 5000. Suze Orman is on MSNBC and what is her financial advice?

Put 100% of your investment in QQQ (an exchange traded fund that tracks the NASDAQ). Rationale: these are the fastest growing companies and you need to get the fastest growth.

Fresh off of being a HUGE PART of an enormous destruction of wealth, Orman now has the utter audacity to give MORE investment advice! DO NOT TAKE THIS WOMAN'S ADVICE.

Summary: Better than numbers and formulas
Review: Let's face it, after the past few years it's clear that there's more to managing our finances than merely chasing some hot performers. It's not as easy as we might have thought during the go-go years. What is so great about Suze's book is that she comes from a completely different angle than other financial experts: while she shares a ton of investing and financial knowledge, the strength of this book is how it focuses on how each of our personalities shapes our financial decisions. The book is tremendous at offering clear and cogent ideas for how we can better understand ourselves--our comfort zones in financial matters--and then how to use that knowledge to make investing decisions that are smart for us. It's not about one rule for everyone; it's about each of us absorbing Suze's Five Laws and using them as a way to better understand our own personal needs. Maybe that scares some people: her message is that you need to understand yourself and be honest about your situation. Only with that base can you then step forward and make strong financial decisions. That's a lot harder than simply following generic advice on how to pick the latest winning stock. Kudos to Suze for offering clear advice on how to deal with the human element of our financial/investing lives. I think it's a winning formula!

Summary: Typical Suze Orman fluff
Review: More fluff than substance. Only in America can you make money marketing yourself selling common sense as 'advice'.

No wonder she makes more money from marketing than providing advice one on one.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Some very useful advice
Review: Ms. Orman has written a very practical and useful book -- particularly laws 1 through four. Her old paradigm -- look inside to find out why you are not managing money as well as you could and the idea that people need to feel empowered when dealing with money -- are present here, as well as in her 9 Steps to Financial Freedom. What this book adds are some very useful pieces of advice on how to organize your priorities in deling with debt, saving for emergencies, preparation for home- and car- buyers. If you are bored or dislike Ms. Orman's philosophical and feel-good diversions, you can skip them altogether, but the book offers very practical advice (and has a workbook at the end to boot).
