Review: I had suffered for years wiith mild to moderate headaches until recently, when I experienced the onset of some severe ones. After reading Dr. Buchholz's book, I took his advice regarding certain diet control and avoiding "quick-fix" medications and I have been headache free for the first time since I can remember. The book is thougtful, easily understood, and effective in dealing with headaches. I highly recoommentd it to anyone who suffers from headaches.

Summary: Highly Recommended
Review: Highly recommend by a headache sufferer. The complex subject of headaches is explained in a reader friendly format. But even more importantly it maps a road to gain relief for you with the help of your doctor. I bought an extra copy for my GP J Lynch

Summary: enlightening
Review: This wonderful book broadened my understanding of migraines, and confirmed for me that some of my 'atypical' symptoms are indeed migraine related. Following what I learned, I am now out of the rebound headache cycle. Furthermore, the diet really makes a difference! And if that isn't enough, the book is very well written!

Summary: God bless Dr. Buchholz!
Review: I am one of Dr.Buchholz's many succees stories. I suffered from migraine for years. During that time I consulted with several "headache doctors," and found no relief. Following his program, I have been migraine-free for 13 years. Here is a physician who really understands the migraine syndrome and has formulated a method of treatment that works. If you have migraine or have friends or family who do, buy this book! It's not magic or doctor-speak--it's simple to understand and simple to follow.
And, it works!

Summary: This book changed my life
Review: I have had people tell me for years, "This book __enter book title here__ changed my life!" I've faitfully read them, and reached the last page with the same life with which I started.
This book literally changed my life! I've *always* known that I am intolerant of MSG and similar food additive, and tried to avoid them. But the most eye-opening part of this book is the medication side! I'd always heard of "rebound" headaches, but never paid much attention, and suffered through headache after headache, until they were a basic facet of my daily life. I knew I wasn't addicted to the medications I was taking, but after reading this book, I realized that my *HEADACHES* were addicted to the medication! Once I broke that chain, my daily headaches have vanished. I haven't lived strictly by his diet, I still drink caffeinated pop (hand-slap) but I'm gradually working toward eliminating all of my possible triggers. If you're suffering, and NOTHING has worked, buy this book!

Summary: 45 yrs of migraines
Review: After 45 yrs of having migraines, with the help of this book I am no longer dependent upon pain killers and the rebound headaches they cause. By watching my diet I have been able to gain better control of the migraines without the need of medication. This book has been very helpful in identifying many migraine triggers that I never associated with the headaches and by learning to avoid them reduce the frequency of migraine attack. I recommend it for anyone suffering from headaches, particularly anyone using prescription pain killers and having little headache relief.

Summary: An UPDATE on the results I got from this book
Review: I would like to let readers know that by following the authors' advice concerning so-called trigger foods, I was able to determine that the vast majority of my own headaches over the years were most likely the result of consuming foods containing MSG and similar additives. Much to my surprise, I turned out to be especially sensitive to breakfast cereals. Eliminating them has all but completely stopped the headaches, not to mention the vicious cycle of OTC analgesics and rebound headaches. Needless to say, I am extremely grateful to the authors for their advice and highly recommend their book to others.

Summary: Don't know Dr. Buchholz, but he knows me
Review: I am so grateful to Dr. Buchholz for sharing his wisdom and expertise and for providing clear explanations regarding the many mysteries of migraine. I found myself on many pages and was relieved to discover that my diverse symptoms and numerous unsuccessful attempts at treatment were all a part of the migraine picture. For the first time in 10+ years I have a plan to take control of my headache problem. If you're fed up with "holding your breath" and waiting for the next headache to strike, don't. Buy this book and follow his advice instead.

Summary: Buy 2 Books, One for You and One for Your Doctor
Review: This is an excellent book for anyone who suffers from headaches. I am a Neurologist in the Baltimore area and treat many migraine/headache patients myself. Dr. Buchholz is well known in the Baltimore area for his treatment of headaches. He is the "go-to guy" that other Neurologists use when we have a patient who is not responding to our treatments. As you will learn in his book, he worked in the Johns Hopkins Neurology Out-Patient Clinic for a number of years. He has lectured extensively about headaches and other topics. His book is a wonderful summary of our current understanding of migraine and its treatment. As he states in his book, his solution is really as simple as 1-2-3. I would advise you to buy two copies, read one yourself and give the other one to your doctor.
