Summary: a very informative book that works
Review: This book was recommended to me by a friend. This book is fantastic. I read the book, followed the techniques and after one try I got pregnant. I am now referring the book to my friends trying to conceive.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great for both baby making and contraception.
Review: If you are trying for a baby, this is the book to read. Also if you want a natural way to prevent pregnancy, without medicine. I had been trying for a baby for a few months, and then I got this book and learned so much about my body, and got pregnant right away. But the main thrill of reading it was the knowledge I got of my own body, things all women should know. It's written in language everyone can understand, even those who don't have english as a first language, like me who have it as a second. Just a great book.

Summary: This book should be required reading for all women!
Review: This book gives an indepth look at the female body. All the things that you needed to know about your body years ago but didn't is in this book. I have checked this book out of the library so many times that I finally decided that it was time for my own copy. It's just a great book!

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I hoped this book would help me get pregnant, after more than a year of trying, but there was almost nothing in it that I didn't already know. Sometimes there's just no fertility to take charge of, I guess. I find it kind of scary that so many women apparently don't know how to figure out when they're fertile and infertile without reading books like this. My grade nine health class learned this stuff.

Summary: Living Proof that IT WORKS!!!!!
Review: My husband and I had been trying to conceive for almost a year when I found this book. I read it from cover to cover and was amazed at how much I didnt' know about my own body. Even though I had been using over-the-counter "ovulation prediction kits" for several months I still was not getting pregnant. I followed Toni's advice and the VERY first month I charted, I became pregnant. It was so exciting to see that my body was indeed working the way it was meant to. I now have a precious one year old baby and am now starting to chart again--for birth control this time. I will never go on "the pill" again. I am hopeful that when I am ready to conceive my next child, it will happen that much sooner since I am already charting and know what is going on with my body. THANKS TONI!!!!!

Summary: The Bible for Trying to Conceive Couples
Review: I heard about Toni Weschler's book on the tryingtoconceive.com website -- all the women there had such incredible things to say about it that I just HAD to get it. Well, I devoured this book over a weekend -- Ms. Weschler is not only an incredible writer, but she just has this sixth sense of knowing all the questions that women would ask but wouldn't out of embarrasment! My husband likes this book as much as I do! The citations in this book are particularly helpful; if you want further information about a particular topic, Ms. Weschler has compiled a wonderful bibliography and set of references. I hope she writes another edition of this book and includes a computer program to go with it -- I'd buy it!

Summary: a must for women of all ages
Review: Gosh, wish Mom would have told me about these things when i was a young girl. This is a very empowering and informative guide to understanding our bodies. All i knew at 12 was that i would have this "awful thing called a period.. it happens once a month". What a tragedy for women to dishonor such an amazing and beautiful part of who we are. I recommend this book to all women.. and you moms out there with young girls, please buy this for them, and maybe even read it with them. It's time to appreciate our bodies as "normal" and wonderful, not a "medical condition".

Summary: Indispensable companion - from pre-puberty to menopause.
Review: The first thing I did after reading the book - buy a copy for my 20-years old niece. I would have saved myself from lots of anxiety and ignorance if only someone had done the same for me years ago.

The three mantras: charting basal temperature, cervical mucus and cervical position have been immensly informative in understanding my body's language. And, yes those colorful pictures of cervical mucus are a boon.

For years I have been doing my yearly pap-smear, but not one gynecologist ever told me that I can understand my body better by charting the three vital body signs, what a shame. I just hope it is not too late to conceive.

Summary: Toni--write a book for teens.
Review: When I read this book, my first reaction was annoyance that no one ever taught me this stuff. I haven't gotten pregnant yet, but am feeling confident that I have the right information. And, if we have a girl, I will use what I have learned from this book to teach her about what is happening in her body. Why does it have to be a mystery? I would like Toni to write a book for teenagers so that they don't have to wait until their mid-thirties like I did before they learn what reproduction is all about. Great illustrations, examples and straight-forward commentary. I have even been able to use it to discuss sex with my slightly squeemish husband.

Summary: Medically sound and empowering
Review: As a female veterinarian I was thrilled to finally find information that demystifies my own body - it had seemed that farmers know more about their cows' cycles that I did about my own. This book is easy for anyone to understand and is medically sound as far as fertility and contraception, although I have doubts about the efficacy of trying to plan your baby's sex. By lucky accident I got pregnant on the first cycle I tried charting, but I was able to know that right away and was even able to argue successfully with my doctor about the conception date...ultrasound dating eventually proved that the doctor's wheel chart was off by nearly 2 weeks. A wonderful resource.
