Rating: Summary: Makes you in tune with your body Review: I found this to be an EXCELLENT book. I refer to it often. As a TR patient I found this to be the best resource out there for those trying (or trying not to) become pregnant. I only wish I knew this method when I had my Tubal Ligation done at 23. I would never have had it done !! I wish more Dr.s would tell us about FAM (Fertility Awareness Method) so many unwanted pregnancies could be avoided and wanted pregnancies could be acheived! Helps you to become an educated consumer when it comes to our bodies.
Rating: Summary: This book has been my fertility bible - GREAT! Review: I have a one year old daughter who took awhile to conceive. My doctor had told me that I could have a difficult time conceiving. The book made it so much easier and less frustrating, as soon as I got it. I read the book cover to cover, then continued each day to reference issues that I had. The book made me so aware of my body and how I can really make it work for me - or at least understand it. Now, I am trying to conceive my second child. The book is again,at my bedside. I flip through the pages daily with any questions I have. It is a great resource!
Rating: Summary: Brilliantly enlightening! Review: I bought this book after 4 unsuccessful months of trying, which was after 3 months of waiting after having 2 miscarriages. Since I'd gotten pregnant right away with my first child, I figured there might be something I needed to learn and I couldn't have been more right. This book is an absolute must for anyone, whether you're trying to get pregnant or not. I learned more about my body in the day and a half it took me to read the book than I ever did in any of the sex ed classes in school. After 4 months of what we thought was perfect timing and no success, we thought there might be a problem. I bought the book to learn about detecting ovulation and potential fertility problems. I got pregnant the first cycle I charted because of the knowledge I gained about ovulation and its signals. I learned through charting that I ovulated on Day 21 rather than Day 14. I was also able to determine I was pregnant without even taking a test! I'm so thrilled about the knowledge I've gained by reading this book and I feel much more in tune with my body now that I am pregnant. I urge any woman to get this book if you are at all interested in your body, pregnancy achievement, or pregnancy avoidance. This book is very well written in plain English that is easy to understand. The illustrations, color photographs, and numerous charting patterns were especially helpful to me. I can't say enough about this book!
Rating: Summary: Very informative. Review: Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a very informative "how-to" book. Whether you are trying to get pregnant or trying to avoid pregnancy, this is a helpful book. The author outlines specific directions for charting your monthly cycles and gives insights on interpreting your charts. The one thing I was most impressed with was the author's candidness and her strong belief in the uniqueness of every woman's body and cycle. The testimonial-type case reviews included in each chapter are inspiring as well!
Rating: Summary: Exceptionally well written and highly informative Review: Finally there is a book that explains in no nonsense terms everything that goes on in a woman's cycle. A "must read" book for woman who are trying to conceive or for woman who want to learn more about their own body. I read this book in two days.
Rating: Summary: The Mother of All Women's Health Books Review: Thank God! No more birth control pills, no more condoms; no more being dependent on drugs or barriers to have an enjoyable sex life with my husband. And when we're ready, I know we won't have to try forever to get pregnant. I never knew there was a natural and effective method of birth control. I wish I had this book years ago!
Rating: Summary: A must for women! So much we need to know, taught simply. Review: Ignorance is not bliss. The questions written on a piece of paper that I always brought to the many different physicians that the many different insurance companies sent me to, were finally answered in this book, simply and concisely with understanding and compassion. I actually couldn't put it down! Do not take all these positive reviews lightly. It's a wonderful feeling to finally understand the body's functions. I have a renewed spirit about the human body - it is truly miraculous - and i'm not religious!
Rating: Summary: excellent book!! Review: I bought this book because of conceiving problem I have, however, this book is for all the women to learn about ourselves that your school never taught you. I am sure you will be very surprised that you didn't know almost anything about yourself!
Rating: Summary: A Definite Must Have! Review: I bought this book because it came highly recommended, it definitely lived up to its praises. The information in this book is a so informative that I have in turn recommended to every woman I know.
Rating: Summary: excellent book for all women Review: After reading this book I think it is a must have for women of all ages. The title may lead you to believe that it is aimed at couples trying to get pregnant. While it does include valuable information on conception, it also includes information on natural birth control(not to be confused with the "Rythum Method"), and information about women's health that is useful for all women. The book also encourages that both parnters take an active role in birth control and gives suggestions on how to do so.
