Summary: I got pregnant on the very first cycle!
Review: using this book. It is amazing and I recommend it to everyone I know. I charted for just one month and got pregnant that same month! This book was a revelation.

Summary: Fertility...not Infertility
Review: This book has objective information about a woman's reproductive system; much of which I wish I'd known when I was 17. The fertility information is simply explained; I'm not sure if it's the entire picture, though. For people like me who are in the midst of TTC, the information can be misleading or anxiety-producing. There is some basic information about infertility, but, as many people know, there is not much about infertility that can be controlled by reading a book.

Summary: Absolutely Wonderful!
Review: This book was enthusiasticly recommended to my by a friend. I was sceptical that it could be that great, but, having started reading it, I have already bought it for my best friend who is also hoping to have another baby. Mrs. Weschler's book is the best book I have found on the subject. It is easy to read and interesting, but is not writen in an overly simplistic manner or "dumbed-down." It's like chatting with a girlfriend, a very knowledgeble girlfriend. A must have for any woman whether you are trying to conceive or not.

Summary: This book is amazing!
Review: this book is truly amazing. Every woman should have a copy. I picked it up so that I can learn how to do natural birth control, which I have now been following for 6 months. I also plan to use FAM methods when I start trying to conceive. I can not believe that I was unaware of this for so long. Tell every woman you know to get it!! Even teenagers may learn about their cycles early on.

Summary: Truly Amazing
Review: This book was such an eye opener for me. It taught me so much about my body and how it functions. I feel like I have more control now that I know what's normal and what's not. I think this should be required reading for every female. It's definetly worth reading whether you're trying to get pregnant, trying to not get pregnant, or just plain want to know more about your body. Plus, it's written in a simple enough way that if you are using it for pregnancy acheivement or avoidance, the method is easy to understand. I read it in two nights.

Summary: Great book even better with addition of Ovusoft application.
Review: This book is a great guide to reproductive health, but what it lacks--as virtually all books do--is the mechanism for applying its wisdom. I found the Ovusoft application at www.ovusoft.com to be the solution for putting Ms. Wechsler's book into practice. (You can even trial the Ovusoft application for 30 days before buying it.) Despite not being able to conceive for 2 years I finally got pregnant using the Ovusoft application. It really helped me to gain insight and control into what was happening in my body. And as I could post the charts on-line I was able to share my cycle information with my doctor! We now have a beautiful 7-month-old boy. Joy! I am continuing to use Ovusoft in order to avoid pregnancy.

Summary: This Book Will Open Your Eyes
Review: I bought this book when I was 38 after having two miscarriages (I had previously given birth twice). My husband and I felt my childbearing time was running out and the miscarriages had further reinforced this. Using this book, I got pregnant a fifth time during my second cycle after getting the "green light" from my physician. In April 2003, at age 39, I gave birth to a beautiful daughter. Weschler's book makes so much sense of things I only vaguely understood before. I urge all parents to share this book with your older teenage daughter -- I believe it could be a great benefit to young women who are 17-18 and upward. This book provides an awareness and a confidence like no other resource I've used.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I was introduced to this book by a very good friend of mine who got pregnant VERY, VERY quickly with her beautiful baby girl about 12-13 months ago. I never knew certain things that were happening to me every month were normal (like having a watery discharge right before your period!) and that with charting both your BBT and most importantly, your cervical mucus, you can either avoid or become pregnant very easily! I'm trying to become pregnant right now (about the past month!) and I found out that I really, really don't like the ovulation tests and I don't think they are as great as your OB/GYN says they are (I always had very light test results!). I also learned that after keeping track using FAM for the past 5-6 months, I ovulate every 14-15 days in my cycle and have a cycle that is 27 to 28 days long every month. Because I know know things that they never teach young women and adult women about their bodies, I know that I can try to get pregnant on these days (it's funny, the ovulation test was still negative, but my body on cycle day 13 is starting to have the EWCM in great amounts, cervix is incredibly soft and high and I believe my body before any test!). BY THIS BOOK IT WILL GIVE YOU MORE CONTROL AND SELF CONFIDENCE THAT YOU DIDNOT HAVE BEFORE!

Summary: Fabulous Book
Review: This book is wonderful. Toni Weschler arms women with all the information that they need to achieve pregnancy. My husband and I had tried to become pregnant for over a year, and this book helped us gain a clear picture of our fertility. I'm happy to say that we now have a 20 month old, largely due to the information in this book. We will be using it again for baby #2. This book is invaluable for women who have "unexpained infertility", which two doctors said I had. What I actually had was a long cycle (many doctors can't deal with anything other than a 28 day cycle), and once we figured that out with the tools in this book, we were pregnant in no time!

I hope this book helps others realize their dream of becoming parents!

Summary: TCOYF Principles Really Work!
Review: After five years on the Pill, I wanted to find a natural alternative to hormonal birth control. I happened to find this book on the shelf at my local library and read it cover-to-cover in 3 days. After discussing it with my husband, we decided to chart to avoid pregnancy. We successfully avoided for 2 years by charting, and when we decided to try to conceive, we we were able to achieve pregnancy the second cycle trying! My midwife praised us for being so "in-tune" with my cycles that I could pinpoint ovulation, and therefore give a more accurate estimate of my due date. In fact, she asked to keep a copy of my chart to show patients that not all women ovulate on day 13-14; I ovulated on day 32 and we were able to achieve pregnancy by charting and using ovulation predictors.

I think Toni's example says it best: If you try to write out instructions for tying your shoes, it sounds very complicated. But tying your shoes is very easy, once you get the hang of it. Charting is the same way. Once you understand the fundamentals, it's easy. For under 2 minutes a day (taking your temperature, checking cervical fluid/position and marking your chart) you can avoid dealing with hormonal birth control every day of your cycle.

The recent updates that have been made to the software, including the ability to publish charts at www.ovusoft.com are a great asset. I would encourage anyone who is leery of charting on paper to temp and chart using the software. It's very reasonably priced and worth every penny.

I bought the revised edition of this book as soon as it came out, and I'm thankful to have it as a resource. I've loaned it to many friends who have all benefited from the knowledge within. Many thanks to Toni Weschler for this wonderful resource!
