Rating: Summary: Definitely for Beginners! Review: This is a wonderful book that details every aspect of fertility. I'm trying to start a family and knew absolutely nothing at first--now I feel like an expert! On the other side, my sister is interested in NOT starting a family and was completely engrossed. A must read for all women.
Rating: Summary: Every Woman Should Read This Review: I found this book while browsing for titles about pregnancy, and am astonished at the information it contains. It is the best book on this topic I have ever seen. My husband and I have been practicing the FAM method for the past several months while my body adjusts from going off oral contraceptives. The method works. Additionally, I've been vaguely fearful since puberty that I wouldn't be able to conceive when I was ready, but after reading this book I know enough about my body and its incredible machinations that I no longer feel in the dark -- or unconfident -- about conception. We plan to start trying in April. Meanwhile, I am enjoying having my hormones back to myself and not having to put up with the mood swings, weight gain, and other problems I lived with for years while being on the Pill. I'm buying copies of this book for all of my women friends.
Rating: Summary: Truly great book Review: This is the best book on the topic. And this one (as well as Fern Reiss's "The Infertility Diet") are both *really* useful for women trying to get pregnant.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Because of this book, I now have beautiful TWIN girls
Rating: Summary: Excellent detailed information! Review: This is the fertility Bible! Every woman should know what is said in this book. A perfect example is the myth of the 28 day cycle. If it wasn't for this book, I probably wouldn't be pregnant now. It explains how to get pregnant, or how not to get pregnant with the Fertility Awareness method. I am so glad a friend recommended this book that I have to recommend it to you all out there, especially if you are trying to conceive.
Rating: Summary: A great resource! Review: I bought this book after 2 years of unsuccessfully trying to concieve. It took me two months to get pregnant after using some of the techniques. The book is thorough in its explanation of the body's cycles and the different indicators that the body uses to show fertility. However, the techniques discussed in the book do require a great deal of dedication and are somewhat time consuming, depending on how detailed your record keeping is.
Rating: Summary: Not just for pregnancy Review: I would recommend this to any woman who wants to learn about their bodies. This book has material that all girls SHOULD have learned in those health classes, but didn't. A great reference.
Rating: Summary: Worth it's weight in gold! Review: I was having trouble conceiving our first child and was, like anyone, worried that maybe I would be unable to have children. I found this book at a bookstore and read it cover to cover in one night. I did everything it told me to do (putting aside anxiety and dignity!) and I conceived on the first chart. I had 30 high temperatures and thought--no way! I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I would pay $1000 for this book if I had to because now i have 2 beautiful children.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: This book provided me with a wealth of information. I bought it because I was trying to get pregnant (we conceived during the first month of charting), but I recommend it to any woman who wants to know more about her body. I couldn't put it down until I finished it.
Rating: Summary: Valuable Information. Review: Excellent reading. A real must-have. I've learned so much about my anatomy. I understand the signals my body is giving me now. After 24 years of menstruation, I now finally know what's really going on inside me and can read the signs. This is a tremendous book -- easy to ready and very insightful.
