Rating: Summary: This book is incredible! Review: I didn't know the first thing about how my own body actually worked until a friend let me borrow this book. After reading it thoroughly, I knew exactly what was going on inside me and when. We started trying to get pregnant soon after and I was pregnant right away. This book provides so much insight into how the female body is composed and how you can be in touch with your own body. It is a must-have whether you're trying to get pregnant or are wanting a natural, effective way of birth control.
Rating: Summary: A Must Have Review: This book is amazing and so incredibly helpful. It helps you to understand better your own body and cycles. As soon as I received and starting reading the book, I realized that I was in the most fertile period of my cycle. One month later we are now expecting our first baby. This book helps you to realize that you might be pregnant even before buying a home pregnancy test or visiting the doctor.
Rating: Summary: Taking charge of your fertility Review: I found this book extremely helpful in learning about my cycle and helping me be more aware of when I ovulate. I have recommended this book to all of my friends, and would even share it with a teenager to help them understand their bodies better. If you are trying to get pregnant, this is an excellent resource!
Rating: Summary: Very useful Review: This book contains so much essential information. I bought it because I'm struggling with infertility. But the information in the book should be useful to any woman, in any stage of life. I wish I'd been taught some of this in high school. I read every chapter in this book, some of them twice. The instructions for charting are complete and unambiguous. Most variations in the chart results are discussed. Since I began charting, I've discovered how many aspects of my life are related to my cycle. I feel like I know what's going to happen each day and why it happens. I haven't tried using this method for contraception, but I think it would work. I now regret all the years of enduring unpleasant side effects of contraceptive medications. So if you can't stand the pill but don't know what else to do, try taking a look at this book.
Rating: Summary: TCOYF helped me achieve pregnancy without fertility drugs Review: I had 3 doctors tell me I needed clomid to get pregnant because I didn't ovulate regularly. I didn't want to use fertility drugs so I read this book and the very first cycle I charted my temperatures, I got pregnant and I have a beautiful 17 month old daughter! This book not only helped me get pregnant, but it also saved me thousands of dollars in fertility treatments I didn't end up needing.
Rating: Summary: An Educational Book! Review: My husband and I decided to try to get pregnant just a short while ago and here I am pregnant already! Without this book, it wouldn't have happened so quickly for I didn't understand anything about my own body. I didn't know when I ovulated, how to tell if I was fertile or didn't realize the many changes that took place in my body each month. The book taught me all of this! I started charting my temperatures and checking for signs that I was fertile and after just 2 cycles I am pregnant. What an amazing book. Now I just have to find an equally good book to take me through the next 9 months. Thanks to all the people who write in and review books, for without this service I may have never have come across this book.
Rating: Summary: Taking Charge of Your Fertility : The Definitive Guide to Na Review: This book will teach you how to interpret your body's fertility signals through close monitoring of basal body temperature, mucus discharge, fertility aches, etc. It is very concise and you will learn fertility lingo and concepts making you an educated patient. It has helped me to "know my body" like I've never known it before. It is an excellent resource and you will find yourself asking, "Is that what that means?" In fact, I often found myself saying, "I didn't know that other women experienced that--I thought something was wrong with me." Reading this book was an eye-opening experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the subject of fertility. It is a book I would give to my daughter. It is my fertility bible and every woman who is serious about her fertility and knowing her body should read it. It is an investment. You won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: I have a very long cycle (35-45 days).... Review: I was having trouble getting pregnant because I have a very long cycle (35 - 45 days.) I never knew when I was ovulating because I didn't follow the "normal" 28 day cycle. Months passed, and finally, I stumbled across this book. It helped me to pinpoint the exact time of ovulation, and I was pregnant the very next month! I now have a beautiful little girl.
Rating: Summary: Why didn't they teach this stuff in sex-ed??? Review: I bought this book and got pregnant the very first month that I charted. But to be fair, plain old luck had a large part in that, since even if you get the timing exactly right and there are no other problems, there's still only about a 1 in 3 chance of conception taking place in any given month. However, I must say I was extremely impressed that, after reading this book, I knew just 7 days after ovulation that I was pregnant... That's a full week before my period was due! I had to wait nearly a week to take the home pregnancy test which would confirm what I already knew, thanks to the information within Ms. Weschler's book. Now THAT is impressive. And apart from the info specifically regarding how to get pregnant and keep from getting pregnant, there's just a ton of interesting information about women's bodies and how they work and why, a lot of which, most women probably have no idea about. This book really ought to be standard fare in every sex education class.
