Summary: Fertility 101 at your fingertips
Review: Forget using the book just to achieve pregnancy. This book should be a must read for ALL women of childbearing years. In fact, I have a spare copy I bought just in case it goes out of print, so I have one for my daughter who was conceived using it! Whether trying to conceive, avoiding pregnancy, or just learning about how the female body works, this is an invaluable source of information. Great pictures, easy to read information, and useful resources listed. A wonderful companion for Lifecyclesoft charting software.

Summary: A success for us!
Review: I had suffered a devastating loss of a baby after almost 3 years of trying to conceive. Then I desperately wanted to get pregnant again, so I looked everywhere for help to do so, I even went through fertility treatments, drugs and all, only to be disappointed month after month. Then on a message board I heard of this book. I thought it would make sense to get it and find out how to conceive naturally. I went off the drugs and stopped the treatments and focused on the advice in this book. Wouldn't you know it after one month of using the charting of temperatures and cervical fluids we got pregnant. I especially loved how because of reading this book that I knew exactly when I conceived and when the pregnancy was well established and when to take a pregnancy test, even though I didn't need to, because after reading this book if you have 18 days of consecutive high temps I knew I was pregnant. It was a blessing to be able to have this information. Now our healthy daughter is 4 1/2 months old and we are going to use the same methods used to conceive, to prevent pregnancy. That is what is so great about this book and FAM.

Summary: Excellent book for trying to conceive!!!!
Review: My husband and I were trying to conceive for 3 months and I purchased this book and got more in tuned with my body and within a month of reading the book, we conceived. The book was very helpful and makes you aware of what you should be doing in order to conceive or prevent conception from occurring.

Summary: We conceived the first cycle !!
Review: My husband and I used this method (minus the temp taking) for successful birth control for 3 years following the birth of our daughter. When we decided to go for the 2nd, we conceived our first cycle trying !!

This book is great, a quick read, easy to understand and totally full of useful, everyday information that every woman should know about their body.

Summary: A thorough and exhaustive guide to your fertility
Review: This book explains everything you need to know to understand your cycles. The topic is covered in easy to understand language and makes you wonder that it was never explained to you this way before. After trying to get pregnant for almost a year, the simple charting technique explained in the book showed that I simply have very long, irregular cycles. Knowing the problem helped me to work with it and explain exactly what was happening to my doctor. It was a comfort to at least understand my body. Now that I have a newborn baby, I am reading the sections on cycles while breastfeeding and natural family planning. I have recommended this book to many people, and given it as a gift to my sister and sister-in-law. I can't say enough about it!

Summary: what a great book!
Review: I am catholic and decided to stop using the birth control pill and try the natural family planning method. This book is wonderful in explaining how to not get pregnant as well as how to get pregnant. My husband and I practiced this method and went 1 1/2 years without getting pregnant; the month we decided we would try to get pregnant, it happened! This book is easy to read and understand, and I suggest it to everyone who is trying to get pregnant and is having problems. Also, I will never go back on the pill.

Summary: Too Bad I Didn't Know About This Book Earlier
Review: Toni Weschler has really outdone herself by writing a fascinating book that is easy-to-read while being thorough and unbelievably comprehensive! I was embarrassed to be a 27-year old woman with ABSOLUTELY NO UNDERSTANDING of my body. How wonderful that I 'stumbled' upon this book and read it cover-to-cover before I even thought about conceiving. I've recommended it six times ... and seven planned pregnancies have resulted (mine included!) I strongly suggest this book to any woman who would like to conceive or prevent conception. Kudos to Toni and many, many thanks for "showing me the light"!

Summary: Excellent
Review: If you are thinking about trying to become pregnant, you must read this book. It is thorough, detailed and very well-written. It provides so much essential information -- things you never knew, but really need to -- that can make your efforts to become pregnant much less stressful, less confusing and hopefully more successful faster.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good basic information
Review: Good basic and detailed information for those not familiar with the workings of their monthly cycle. Some parts I disagreed with, like when Ms. Weschler complained that one of her clients had to endure a "traumatic, humiliating and painful" colonoscopy because of the "ignorance of her medical practicioner". The woman had mistakenly confused her vaginal fluid with a possible problem with her intestinal tract. Since physicans can only give a diagnosis as good as the information we provide them, I think we all have a responsibility to know how our bodies function. If you don't, this book will help you.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Informative and Easy to Follow
Review: "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is informative and easy to follow. While reading I wondered why this information had never been discussed with me. Through discussing the variations in each woman's cycle it answered most of my questions that had been previously brushed off with "oh, that's normal, nothing to worry about." A must have for everyone woman as soon as possible.
