Summary: EVERY woman needs to own this book, and know her own body!
Review: A friend who had had some difficulty conceiving her second child found this method very effective - she charted for two months and in the second month got pregnant! She gave this book to me, and I have eaten it up! My husband and I have been trying to conceive for four years, with the result being only multiple miscarriages, and now a long time without even conceiving. We have been diagnosed with "unexplained infertility" - which hasn't told us anything. We are expecting to go through IVF this winter - but we are hoping that this book may help us prevent having to go through that very expensive, very invasive procedure.
I think the most powerful message in the book is in the title.  No one should know more about a woman's cycles and her fertility than she does! The book, called "the fertility bible" by the women on my infertility internet forums, is based on some very simple premises. A woman should check three things to ensure either effective birth control or to increase her chances for conception: basal body temperatures, cervical fluid and the position of the cervix. I am in my first month charting and will see whether we are able to conceive this way. I am told by other women that even if I don't conceive - this is a terrific way to learn about my body.

Summary: Can't say enough good things about this book
Review: This book seems to be the hands-down "best of show" for its topic, and I'm so glad that I got it. It gave me tools that helped me achieve pregnancy -- I'm due in a month. I also experienced the unanticipated benefit of learning a lot about my body . . . it's such a complex, amazing process, and I'm so glad to know more about it now!

Summary: Worked For Us!!
Review: This book really helped us a lot in conceiving a baby on our first month of trying. I believe if I hadn't read this book my husband & I would still be trying for a child. It teaches you the signs to look for when you are most fertile & how to chart your basal body temperature. I thought after flipping through the pages before I bought the book there would be no way I could do the charting. It seemed really complicated at first but this book shows you step by step how to do it. It answers most of your questions you may have about getting pregnant. So my husband & I would definitely tell anyone trying to get pregnant to get this book!!

Summary: Excellent book, but
Review: Toni truly explains what your body is doing, and I've learned SO much from reading it (hence the 4 star rating), but she assumes that all women will fall in the categories in her book. I have had several things happen in my cycle where the book didn't cover. This leaves me clueless sometimes. A cycle is a GREAT guessing game, and this books helps you to guess. But, don't rely on it as gospel. It's only a guess. Also, if you're coming off of birth control pills or injections, you might notice your cycle doing something TOTALLY different than what Toni covers. She doesn't go into detail on what to expect when you're coming off of artificial hormonal birth control.

Summary: So Informative, Great Resource
Review: After reading this book I didn't feel as bad when it took several months to get pregnant. You realize that there is a lot to it and all variables have to be just right. I borrowed this from a friend and decided to buy my own copy since it was such a great reference book. I learned more about my body in all stages of life then I have ever learned from any other resource.

Summary: I Learned More in 2 Days Than I Had in my Whole 39 Years
Review: This is a wonderful book and well worth your $$. It relieved a few of my worries and made me realize that I was fine. It's also a wonderful book if you don't want to be a slave to birth control pills through your fertile years. Many personal stories throughout the book are quite entertaining and will have you laughing. Gives great hope to those couples wanting to have children, and simple instructions to those who do not want to get pregnant. This book should be required reading for every high school student in America.

Summary: What a God-Send!
Review: I read this book cover to cover when my husband and I were trying to have a baby. Within one cycle of tracking, after the information provided in this book, it worked! Since then, I have reccommended this book to friends and for 9x out of 10, it's worked and I still haven't gotten the book back-----it's in such demand. After such an experience, I felt compelled to write. The topics in this book should be taught in 5th grade for all young girls in order to get even more of a grip on the understanding their bodies. I now have a heathly, happy 2 yr. old boy----due to the help of this book. Thanks. PS. Have your husbands read it as well, it's enlightening for them too, (if they are not squimish).

Summary: A Super Guide to Achieving Pregnancy
Review: After three years with no birth control and no luck getting pregnant, a friend recommended this book. I was pregnant the following month! This is a wonderful guide to a woman's body, written by a woman. I learned more from this book than I ever did in school, from my doctor or anyone else. When my daughter is a teenager, I will share it with her. Every woman should read this book simply for a better understanding of how her body works.

Summary: An absolute "must read" for all women!
Review: Wow. I have never felt so empowered! I just turned 40 and my husband and I have been trying for 17 months for a second child. (it took us 10 months to conceive Jack, now almost 3 years old). We have been getting so discouraged and when I booked an appointment with a specialist, I was put on a '1 year' waiting list! So I decided to take the matter into my own hands and bought this book. I thought, "I got pregnant once, I can do it again".

I have been charting for 5 months now, and although we are still not pregnant, I take comfort in knowing that I am definitely ovulating and that our timing is perfect. I love charting and being so aware of my body. It has become a way of life for me. (My son even hands me my thermometer in the morning!) The book has explained so much to me. I used to think I had some sort of infection that surfaced every few weeks -little did I know my body was preparing for ovulation!! As well, I no longer have to wait until my period to know whether or not I am pregnant. A few less agonizing days of waiting is a blessing for me.

Every woman should read this book to learn about her amazing body. It removes all the guesswork surrounding conception and is a wonderful source of information for natural birth control. I highly recommend it and will write again when I have wonderful news to share!

Summary: It worked for me
Review: I read this book right before I went off the pill. Two months later I was pregnant. The book is very informative about a woman's cycle and how to chart your own cycle. It really worked for me. I was able to tell that I didn't ovulate my first month of being off the pill, and I knew when I ovulated the next month (and got pregnant!). By charting my cycle I felt like I had a least some control in trying to get pregnant. I only used the section of the book for getting pregnant so I don't really know about it's use as birth control. I think it would make me nervous to rely on a charting method if I really didn't want to be pregnant.
