Summary: If you want to get pregnant....buy this book!!!
Review: My best friend told me she knew of three people who bought this book and became pregnant exactly when they wanted to. I figured this was more coincidence than anything else but decided to buy the book anyway. I was pregnant two weeks later! In the meantime, I have loaned the book to two friends who each got pregnant the first month they tried!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Those with known infertility problems, DON'T BUY THIS BOOK
Review: Thank goodness I borrowed this book from a friend and didn't waste my money on it! Nothing in the book was new to me, it was all info I had already learned from my (male) doctor. (They're actually not all clueless like this book implies.) This book is geared for people who have absolutely no problems with infertility and just want to know how to time things correctly. It is NOT for people with actual fertility problems.

Summary: Not pregant, then pregnant when we wanted!
Review: This is by far the best book for couples wanting to use natural birth control and then have the ease of getting pregnant quickly. We used the natural birth control for years and then got pregnant on the first try. I have sent this book to all my friends who are having trouble with current birth control options and those wanting to get pregnant. It is easy to use and helps you learn so much about your body. It helps you understand mood swings, monthly discomfort, and stress. I would love to take one of her workshops!

Summary: Finally, everything is explained!
Review: Although we used this book to get pregnant (not to avoid pregnancy), this is the first book that explained how to track your most fertile period in the most concise and user-friendly way. Like the author, I visited the GYN many times as a younger woman - thinking I had a yeast infection - when it was actually my monthly cervical mucous! I had female GYNs and somehow, this was never explained to me. I didn't realize how ignorant I really was.
Despite two minor fertility "issues", we did get pregnant in Month 4 of trying (at age 36) using this book. Read it for an education, if nothing else, - it is excellent.

Summary: Cheers for Toni!!
Review: This should be required reading or at the very least required summer reading for all High School Girls!

Summary: a NFP user
Review: Great book, wonderful guide to using natural forms of birth control as well as for those who are ttc.
My only problems with the book were that she has a feminist slant and her section on nutrition was basically a referral to "Fertility, Cycles, and Nutrition". She also does not discuss what you can do to prevent infertility in the first place (having children younger, avoiding chemical birth control, etc...)
Otherwise, an excellent book. Those not familiar with checking their mucus sign will greatly appreciate the pictures. I would buy this one and The Art of Natural Family Planning, because the two compliment each other nicely.

Summary: Worth Every Star
Review: I can't echo enough what the other reviewers said. I bought this book on the basis of the Amazon reviewers and they were 100% right. This book is very informative and eye opening. It explains your reproductive system and how it works, and discusses charting your cycle to avoid or maximize your chances of becoming pregnant through a combination of checking your secretions and waking temperature. It is very scientific and not to be confused with the rhythem method or other inaccurate "natural" methods. Although I haven't used the book for either yet, it helps knowing that there is another option out there for avoiding or becoming pregnant.

Very Minor Criticisms:
The book is a bit longer than it needs to be, because it repeats a lot of information in each chapter, but I am sure that this is to make the method even easier and to avoid people who skip chapters from totally messing up.

I don't share the author's view that birth control pills and other hormonal methods are necessarily bad.

This method would require a lot more effort than taking a pill once a day to an alarm (a great way to avoid forgetting). It may be tough for some people to wake up at the same time every day (if you don't the accuracy of your charting goes down).

Summary: Didn't even get to start on the chart!!
Review: I have to say my husband and I were not trying to concieve just yet. I purchased the book last October, to use as a research and planning tool. I thought I would read through it first and then start charting when I was finished. I learned so much just in the first few chapters that I started applying the knowledge and within a few weeks we became PREGNANT!!! I am happy to say we are expecting our baby in July.
This is and excellent book not only for conception but for education. As a 30 year old woman who thought she knew her own body, this book really opened my eyes as to how little I understood it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Mother of two
Review: I could easily say that this book made it possible for my husband and I to have two beautiful boys after being told repeatedly (by medical practitioners) that I wouldn't be able to conceive. Highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to become pregnant.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Every woman should read this book.
Review: After reading the first pages of this book I saw myself. As women we are told so little about our bodies and our cycles. Every women should read this book, just to get the knowledge to empower themselves and trust their own bodies to know if something is truely wrong, when they are fertile, when they aren't fertile, if they could be pregnant, etc. If I ever have a daughter, she will get this book!
