Summary: A Work that makes you think
Review: I find 7 Habits to be a valuable tool for self-exploration, and highly recommend it to friends and family. The book may not be for everyone, but alot of people believe it has been beneficial to them. I am disappointed to see such virulent reviews against the book and Covey himself. It's almost as if those who gave a 1-star rating to the book have developed a personal hatred for it and must lash out. It's amazing!! It's ok if you don't like the book, or don't feel it was worth your time. But perhaps explaining why you didn't like it would be more constructive than calling Covey a con man, that's it's mush/dribble etc etc. I think potential buyers would be more interested reasons for not liking it than in the name calling or other angry remarks.

Summary: OUTSTANDING...
Review: If you are thinking about changing your life, to make it worth it, to have a meaning in your life, and follow it to the point, that when you die, you will have a meaning to it too!!!

Then you must read this book, but if you are thinking on buying this book because you like this critic. Then don't buy it, because what it did to me, buy it of what will do to YOU!!

DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE? DO YOU WANT A REALIZATION AND MEANING IN YOUR LIFE?

The answer is yours, this book is your guide!!

Summary: I am ready to ascend past my mediocre present self.
Review: While this book does nothing to change my life, it provides me with the vehicle to do it myself. I scorn those who have no use for this book. Where are you now? Where would you be able to take yourself if you could take the advice in "The 7 Habits?" Listen not to those who choose to fall victim to circumstance and use the information that Covey offers.

Summary: This book is totally USELESS.............
Review: Like I said in the title, this books really SUCKS. Stephen Covey hadn't helped me at all with the thousand page boredom with everyday common sense in it. When I first saw this book, I thought it was very helpful since so many people bought or recommended this book, but when I began to read it, I thought all of it was totally rubbish and nonsense with absolutely no help for me. All it talked about was beliefs, and it was meant to be something to change you're habits. If you're planning to buy this book, DON'T, as you will regret it. Instead, I would rather recommend "7 Habits for Highly Effective TEENS" for teenagers.

Summary: Proven Success Strategies.
Review: If it's true that strategies are like recipes, then this wonderful book by Stephen Covey holds the recipe for success. A key word right in the title is "habit" not The 7 "suggestions", it's the 7 "habits" When you take success strategies and turn them into everyday practiced habits, you get results.I've read the negative reviews and can only assume that Dr. Coveys detractors either don't have the ability or desire or the discipline to practice habits. Perhaps if Dr Covey chaged the title of this book to "7 seconds to achieve ultimate success without effort" they would have liked this book more. Other books I recommed are "Life Strategies" by McGraw and "SuperSelf" by Givens. Great books.

Summary: I've heard Covey speak on this book.....
Review: The book, no matter what your opinion is of it, can never be as bad as sitting through Mr. Covey's lecture about it.

Summary: Good sense
Review: I read this book almost ten years ago. Since then, I have bought it several other times to give to friends and family. Hostile reviews I read on the Amazon site surprised me. I have read extensively in philosophy. Ideas in Covey's book come from various sources and are not particularly new or original, but they are profound, and the way he expresses them makes them easy to apply to daily life. You need not agree with them all, but if you think and act on the seven habits you will be more effective. Covey keeps his promise. Reading the book made me see my own attitudes in a different way. Of course it was my pondering, not the book itself, changed my life for the better, but the book inspired the thought. I really have trouble understanding how anyone could be hostile to the book, unless it is because it takes away an excuse to wallow in self pity.

Summary: STOP STALLING
Review: STOP STALLING: Read this book now to improve your effectiveness and the quality of your life!

If you are only going to read one book this year, read this one. It is a must in every business and home library. I pick it up off the shelf every two months or so just to refresh and drive home the framework. You should, too. These are timeless principles that will keep you focused where you should be looking. Also recommended for those who work in business management: Dr. Covey's newer work, Principle-Centered Leadership, and the 2,000 Percent Solution."

Summary: It didn't help
Review: I was excited when this book first came out because I really needed the help. But i must admit, this book did absolutely nothing for me. My boss still walked all over me. My ex-wife still hated me. My kids still wouldn't talk to me. And the bottle still called to me. The only thing buying this book helped was Covey's bank account. If you're considering buying this book, i strongly suggest you look elsewhere, like the Catholic Church.

Summary: Covey shows his ignorance
Review: Stephen Covey is nothing but an ignorant man who decided to write down a list of things that everyone already does and make some money off of it. It's an outrage, really. He's trying to tell you how to live your life. He's trying to change your beliefs. That should be up to the individual, not some book. You should not be listening to this man who himself has never done anything important. Do a complete philosophical review of your life. See if all your thinking needs to be changed. Covey begins with the assumption that you should stay where you are and make the best of it. That really means he's indoctrinating you for your employer. It's outrageous. I'm sure that it conflicts with many of your religious beliefs, readers. You should think about that. Don't do this half-way fix that's going to try to make you feel better and do nothing to help you as a person. Go to someone -- a philosopher, priest, psychiatrist -- who might actually give you help.
