Summary: Dilettante's Guide to Data Warehousing and Data Mining
Review: As the care taker and primary business user of the world's largest customer data warehouse I was astounded at the naivete of the author. This document is more of sales manual for IBM product rather than a fair revue of current technology, practices and successful data mining and data warehouse implementation. There is little to no discussion on the need of having skilled persons to manipulate the data direct in the warehouse as opposed to having to export data to some black box product like intelligent miner. The author fails to disclose that with most very large applications (one terabyte plus) that traditional tools won't work due to the need to export large volumes of data out of the warehouse environment. This book is wrong on many fronts.

Review: This book has value information about Business Intelligence architecture, it has comprehensive overview about Data Warehouse arquitecture and business analytics such as OLAP, Data Mining, Spatial analysis. And then explain deeply IBM technology and products for BI. The author uses a good and clear languaje, providing an outstanding look at business intelligence. If you are a Business Intelligence professional i recommend this book and also if you are using IBM products.
