Summary: A good book for buying *or* selling on line.
Review: The most incredible auction I ever saw on eBay was under "HOT" items (meaning it had over 30 bids) for "a wee bit of good advice." I couldn't resist, so I checked it out. Yes indeed, some fellow was selling a few minutes of advice and counsel to the highest bidder.

My purchases were primarily books, but I made some foolish mistakes when I started buying on e-Bay. By the time I bought Sinclair's book, I was a seasoned eBay buyer and seller, but after reading his book I realized there was still quite a bit that I didn't know.

If you're going to spend more than $50 on eBay in your lifetime (which by definition would include everyone in the Milky Way Galaxy) you need to buy this book.

Good layout, good size, easy to read, simple writing style, yet very informative and a fantastic price - considering the potential savings (and profit) from following his advice.

The part I loved best - you don't have to be a computer genius to read and comprehend what he's telling you. My computer literacy is a few notches higher than Daisy's. (she's my dog) And I was able to follow pretty much everything Sinclair is saying.

And there's also a section on how to protect and defend yourself against fraud.

It's over 400 pages and is fully indexed. Lots of good graphics too.

Seriously - if you do more than a couple eBay transactions per year, this book is needful and valuable. As much for buyers as for sellers.

I'd have saved myself close to $100 if I'd bought it before I started trading on eBay.

Summary: Borrow From The Library
Review: This book does not provide much more information that you can learn on eBay in a short time or by reading the site documents. Some people, even experienced, will learn a few things but you would be much better off picking this up at the library before purchasing a copy.

Summary: THE BEST!
Review: This book is particularly useful if you want to auction items in a proper and professional way. The fact that you may have been auctioning on eBay for years, it does not follow that you are doing it in the right way. In other words, this book teaches among other things the proper way to deal with customers, shipping cost charges, description of the condition of the items, etc.

If you are a novice, this book is a must. If you are a "professional" eBay seller you must have it too as a refernce to consult it when doubts or problems arise.

Summary: incomplete
Review: This book is very understandable, but has some weak points. The main one I suppose it's owed to time passed between writing and editing. In general it's strongly conceived for the reader of the USA, but E- bay is a worldwide business and over all, the author has had not the time to include the EURO as the money of almost all Europe, a huge market he seems not to master so well as the USA, and so, he insists in the difficulties of national money change with every European country, a thing is still true practically only in UK which preserves his Sterling Pound, and a little in Switerland with his Swiss Franc or Sweden with his Crown, but in this two countries the Euro or the US dollar are widely accepted. As I'm not familiar with trade methods in the USA, I think these are a little different in Europe. In respect to the languages, because Germany is I think the mean market in Europe, well, I don't know German, but commercial language is very restricted for current transactions and there are translators in Internet between the main idioms, if yes, the trade of a car, an expensive jewel or another high value item must be different.

Summary: A great book to get you started.
Review: This book really helped me get going on eBay. I chose this book after a quick review of some other eBay books at my local bookstore. The "Smart Way" book seemed to be better organized and an easier read than the others that I glanced at. I have picked up many useful tips that have helped me bid and win. The book also has information about how to create good auction listings. Some chapters I didn't read because they are on topics I'm not interested in, such as, selling and buying cars on eBay. If you are looking for a book that covers the basics, I think you'll find this one to be very readable, informative and well worth the time and money.

Summary: not what i was hoping for......
Review: this book was a disapointment. though very easy to read, it provided only a superficial definition of the many aspects of online buying and selling. there is no reference value to this book. i would recommend this book only for the individual that has no auction or online experience and is wondering "what is ebay"? for the more literate or experienced user, try the official ebay guide written by laura and michael kaiser. again ....... this book was a great disappointment.

Summary: E-Bay the Smart Way by Sinclair
Review: This is an excellent introductory work on the inner workings of Ebay. The author shows how to buy things from E-bay, use them and
resell them-many times at a profit. Trust is at the heart of the
E-bay system. The site is perfect for revenue raising. Payment may be made by Turbo-check, Paypal or by personal check or money order. The auctions are at agi5.ebay.com/ws2/ebay. Losses may be insured. A special escrow protects against non-delivery for
large money purchases. The E-bay system is perfect for high volume selling. The book is a worthy purchase because it explains the Ebay system and protocols, identifies advantages &
warns of pitfalls. This is a solid value for the price paid.
I've bought from E-bay and my experience is that tremendous values are there for the asking. A buyer can buy literally at .10
on the dollar. Ebay is perfect for the new college student seeking to buy furnishings and books at deep discounts.
