Summary: A book any Web publisher can use. Yes there is one, finally!
Review: Increase is a terrific book. I followed everything the author discusses and did it all in 2 days. Everything went smoothly. The author's explanations are clear and easy to understand. My traffic has doubled and is still going up

Summary: The DEFINITIVE guide to Web site promotion!
Review: Yes. It will really help you get your Web site noticed. I learned so much by reading this wonderful and intelligently written book. Our traffic has gone from an average 50 page views a day to well over 500 page view a day and no, I'm not talking hits. Hits, like the author says, don't give you an accurate picture of your site's popularity or visitor count

Summary: What a joy to read and use
Review: Stanek is a genious and a fool. A genious because he really understands how to promote the heck out of a home page. A fool because I would have paid just about anything to get this kind of advice and the book is only $19.95

Summary: Wow! Really helpful...
Review: Stanek says you can get your web site noticed and dramatically increase your web traffic without spending a dime. I'm a sceptic and willing to debunk anything. So I gave the book a try. The results and the book weren't what I expected.

Stanek really does layout a complete plan for increasing traffic, promoting a web site, and "attracting the masses" as he calls it. The book has solid writing. It is interesting. It is understandable and usable by anyone. The promotion plan works. I'm not easily impressed but must say I'm impressed by this book. It is a winner

Summary: Everything you need to promote your Web site!
Review:

As the author, I am proud to have created a book that can truly help the Web become a better place. Thousands of Web publishers have created Web sites to sell products and services, or simply to share ideas. Often, they are disappointed with the results they've achieved through Web publishing. They create wonderful pages yet get only a few visitors. These publishers may think their ideas, interests and products aren't interesting but nothing could be further from the truth. With nearly 50 million Web users from dozens of countries around the world, the Web has an extremely diverse audience, yet trying to tap into the tremendous potential of the Web can be a daunting task. Enter Increase Your Web Traffic In a Weekend. Using the tasks explored in the book, you will be able to attract a following to your Web site; gain an audience for your ideas; and promote your Web site to the world.

Before you buy a book, you probably want to know if the "expert" has any inkling of what he is talking about. I invite you to visit the online site for the book at http://www.tvpress.com/promote/ to get a better idea of what the book is about. I also invite you to check out some of my web sites. My Internet Job Center (www.tvpress.com/jobs/) is a highly regarded resource for job seekers and has helped tens of thousands of people find jobs over the course of many years. My daily newspaper Internet Daily News (www.tvpress.com/idn/) has attracted millions of readers over the course of its short life. As I no longer have time to publish the newspaper on a daily basis, you will find an archive and demo for some of the stuff I've done on the Web. My latest endeavor is the International Anti-Spam Headquarters (www.tvpress.com/nospam/) which I created to deter unsolicited commercial email that makes false and misleading claims.

You will find my bio, resume and background at www.tvpress.com/writing. To make a long story short and save you the trip, here's the short of it: Over the years, my advice has helped Web publishers, programmers, and developers all over the world. To date, I've written eight computer books, including several best-sellers. Beyond books, I am a regular columnist and feature writer for magazines. My column in the well-respected journal Dr. Dobb's SourceBook is called Web Database Developer. I am also a contributor to PC Magazine and you'll sometimes find my work in the PC Tech section. Some of my work in PC Magazine includes "Spotlight on JavaScript", "VBScript 2.0 and JavaScript 1.2", "VRML: 3D for the Web" and "Energizing Your Web Pages," in the June 10, June 24, August, and September 9, 1997 issues respectively.

My goal in creating Increase Your Web Traffic In a Weekend was to give you a quick and easy guide to everything you need to know to promote the heck out of your Web site. I truly hope you find this book to be the best resource book you've ever bought.

Summary: Better get in line if you want this one...
Review: I've been to the Web site for the book at http://www.tvpress.com/promote/. I'm extremely familar with the quality of Mr. Stanek's writing and I WANT this book so bad I can taste it. It looks like it will answer all my questions about Web site promotion and markting. But I can't get my hands on the book. The book person I usually ask to hold books for me says they've already got tons of people with orders in for this book and that's just at one book store. This is frustrating... Previously I bought Producing Web Hits and that book is definitely a bust, it simply didn't help me, which is why I desprately want this book. Since I visit this page so often to check on the book's status I just wanted to let anyone else that is waiting know that you better get your order in before the rush. My book person told me this publisher doesn't usually make a big printing of books, which means you may end up having to beg, borrow or steal this one to get your hands on it any time soon. Get that order in pronto or you will regret it and remember I want my copy before you get yours! Kyl

Summary: The do-it-yourself bible for Web promotion
Review: A really revealing read concerning Web site promotion. Undoutedly the most important book about Web site promotion ever published! It is a relief to know that Mr. Stanek really "gets it". Unlike many Internet books which become obsolete very quickly, Increase Your Web Traffic has sound advice and tips which will stand the test of time. The author has also created a good companion web site where you can find all the latest updates and information.

Thanks to great forethought on the author's part and a constantly updated companion web site Increase Your Web Traffic In A Weekend will stand the test of time! The tips and advice are priceless.

Mr. Stanek, thank you for writing the book that really needed to be written and thank you for writing it so clearly!

Summary: Out of Date
Review: This book is so out of date it shouldn't be available for purchase.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Needs updating
Review: Many of the "free" promotional sites listed in the book now only provide fee-based listings. However, any Internet book that is three years old will undoubtedly include some outdated material. I would like to see an updated version. Even with this limitation, I successfully updated a couple of the business sites I maintain, including www.medresearchnow.com.
