Review: A good book. I've been programming and developing for networks for 10 years. I had plenty of great ideas written down in my notebook. I really recommend using a notebook to write down ideas as you read.

Summary: Much more than a novice only book!
Review: One person's trash is another person's treasure. I've been programming and using the net for many years. If I can pick up this book and learn something new, you can to. I love the book. I bought this as a treat for myself when I bought my wife Stanek's Learn the Internet in a weekend. Even if you come away with one new idea the book will pay for itself. That's how valuable Stanek's ideas are. My home page traffic has doubled! Don't be in a rush to see instant results. You CAN implement the promotion in a few days. But even Mr. Stanek can't control when the resource sites he discusses will place your new listing. He doesn't gloss this over the average dates are listed in the book. This is a book that should be on every Web publisher's desktop. If you Web publish I don't see how it couldn't be.

Summary: For Novices Only
Review: I purchased this book as a result of the great reviews it has received. I rated this book as a "4" because I knew most of what is contained in this book, the information is readily available on the Web (one Web site in particular offers detailed and up-to-date info that was more helpful to me), several statements in the book are already out of date, and what I didn't know won't prove to be that valuable. If you have been developing Web sites for a couple years, this book probably will not prove helpful to you either. If you are a novice or are having difficulty finding information on how to submit your pages to search engines, review your site's log files, add a counter or guestbook, you may appreciate this book. Having said that, if you can't seem to find that kind of information on the Web, you probably should also focus on learning how to effectively use Web searching techniques. Without a good understanding of the Web, introducing the principles in this book can still leave you short in designing and promoting an effective Web site in the long run. And in that case, a book on searching the Web might be a good addition to your library.

Review: I enjoyed the book! I implemented everything in a weekend just as the author promised. I think you should buy the book if you are looking to increase traffic to your web site. I don't think there is any other book that compares.

Review: A really revealing read concerning Web site promotion. Undoutedly the most important book about Web site promotion ever published! It is a relief to know that Mr. Stanek really "gets it". Unlike many Internet books which become obsolete very quickly, Increase Your Web Traffic has sound advice and tips which will stand the test of time. The author has also created a good companion web site where you can find all the latest updates and information. Thanks to great forethought on the author's part and a constantly updated companion web site Increase Your Web Traffic In A Weekend will stand the test of time! The tips and advice are priceless. Mr. Stanek, thank you for writing the book that really needed to be written and thank you for writing it so clearly!

Review: Every Web publisher should read this book! No matter if you are a kitchen table publisher or a commercial publisher. With this book Stanek has written a top-notch guide to Web promotion. Stanek says you can promote your Web site without spending money. Boy is he telling the truth! I used the resources and expertise he shares in the book to saved my employer hundreds of dollars. Before I found this gem my boss was ready to spend $595 on a promotion service that promised to promote us to 200 search and directories. We had exhausted all other sources and weren't seeing results. Thanks to Increase Your Web Traffic, I was able to handle the promotion of the company web. The book teaches you: how to unlock the secrets of search engines and directories, how to optimize your site for search engines, how to build cross-traffic within your site, how to improve your site, how to track statistics and what Web stats are really about, how to win awards, how to get in directories of best sites, the right way to sell your site through email and discussion, how to attract readers with contests, how to get free banner advertising on other web sites, and on and on and on like the energizer bunny. Review: Stanek has created a book all levels of readers will enjoy. Anyone that wants to or has published a home page or Web site should read this book. Before I read this book and attracted visitors to my home page, I was ready to throw in the towel. Lucky I gave it the old college try one more time. I bought Stanek's book and the rest as they say is history. My home page attracts hundreds of people every day. I'm ticled pink!
