Rating: Summary: Gives a good understanding of out the market works. Review: This is a beginner's book that gives a good description on how the NASDAQ and NYSE differ. It is easy to read but to wordy. The techniques that are described seem to only be touched upon and he is pushing one of his video courses thought the book. The basic points do get across, buy when the big money is buying and sell when the big money is selling, don't pay the spread on the bid ask price, and beware of the specialist in the NYSE. Again a lot of words but not much substance on how to make money and employ these techniques in any depth. It is a beginner's book all the way.
Rating: Summary: Good insight into the real markets Review: This is definately a beginners book. But still a good book. It is abit wordy, but it get the point across. It focuses mainly on the spread of B/A prices and the specialist & market makers. A good book to read before you start trading, but not the only book you should read.

Rating: Summary: Are you new to the TABLE? Review: This is the first book on the subject matter that I have read. I must say this book is a must for any novice investor. The author sheds light on understanding why the online novice daytrader is not on a level playing field. (Did you know 7 out of ten daytraders lose money?)Upon reading this book, you will understand why. Currently, I have delayed further day-trading until I get access to a "more" level playing field. For example, quicker connection's, perhaps not using an online brokerage firm. Researching NASDAQ LEVEL II QUOTES!, understanding who, what, why, how the specialist, and money makers role is, researching software, and of course getting my hands on other books!!!

Rating: Summary: Chris Farrell does it again! Review: This most recent book by Chris Farrell confirms his place as the foremost expert on day trading in the country. He seems to be the only one who can (or is willing to)communicate to a broad audience the complexities of day trading and markets in general. His ability to explain in detail his specific trading stategies within the context of overall industry practices and nuances make Chris Farrell stand alone. Congrats!
Rating: Summary: Nut and Bolts Review: Throw out the charts, no technical voodoo here...strictly hands-information on what motivates the specialists and market makers. Reveals the dirty tricks of the brokers and specialists, too. A how-to for trading for quick profit scalps with either NYSE bid/ask/size, quotes or NASDAQ level 2. Really well organized and easy to read. Now, I can answer that guy who two years ago asked me why NYSE is more fair than NASDAQ...better yet, I'll tell him to buy this book. Top rating for this book & I've got several in this ilk. Good luck trading!

Rating: Summary: Congratulations Mr. Farrell Review: With all of the "day trading" gujides and manuals out there, many of which I have read, this is the one that makes sense for a long-term day trader (not just in it for the moment). The logical analysis, the intellectual heft are both appreciated. This is not a business for the under-educated, and Mr. Farrell certainly shows he is not that. More to come from him we hope.
Rating: Summary: This book opened my eyes. Review: Yes, it way did. And I remember the first time I read this book I was very surprised and stunned. Also Farrel was writing very emotionally getting you even more stunned. This book is simply a must-read if you're trading using level 2 quotes (and keep losing). This book told me THAT tricks are being played, and WHAT tricks are being played. And it told me that I had to look at the supply-and-demand screen much differently than before because not all tricks market makers were using are covered.Sad to say that once the Super Montage is implemented this book (and the tricks uncovered) will be kind of obsolete.
