Summary: The best starting point for in depth knowledge
Review: Great place to start in the getting up to speed on SS systems. Concise and clear. However, you will need to go further a feild if you need to delve into the shift register sequences and CDMA is not discussed very well. (i.e. no mention of walsh/hadamard coding etc.) Have designed systems just using this book.
