Summary: Everything you've ever wanted to know about eBay...
Review: This informative book arrived after I had already gotten well ensconced in eBay world, but offers invaluable tips and information for all users. I read it from cover to cover because not only is it informative, it is entertaining and interesting as well. Provides many "gems". The thumbnail sketches of eBay pros and their wisdom is both interesting and quirky.

Summary: Much like Microsoft Manuals
Review: This is a comprehensive book, and becuase it is the "official" guide to eBay, it does not offer the skinny about the tricks of the trade--like best and worst times to begin and end auctions, deciding of reserves, and automated software to help with selling etc. It is much like Microsoft manuals: it tells everything about ebay that's official, but does not give away the tricks of the trade. A nice addition to your book shelf, but surely not the first eBay book you should buy. Information about the official stuff, however, is undeniably comprehensive.

Summary: Accept no other book to learn everything about Ebay!
Review: This is the best book on Ebay because it taught me in a very simple and complete way how to find the things I want. So many books of this kind are complicated and frustrating --- but not this guide. The layout and information are completely accessible, and I enjoyed the author's knowledge and humorous approach.

Summary: Basics of eBay
Review: What a disapointment! From the reviews I had read here, I thought this book would be quite helpful. I have some, but not extensive, experience on eBay, and thought this book could jump me up a level or two. Unless you've never used eBay, and are really afraid of trying it without a printed introduction, don't waste your money on this book. You can learn EVERYTHING in this book -- including how to create an effective ad using HTML -- by simply clicking on links on the eBay site.

In sum, there's simply no need for this book. I'm going to sell my copy!

Summary: basic, but not a bad overview, for beginners
Review: While it's true that a lot of this information is common sense, as well as available on the ebay help pages, there's definately useful information in here also. Such as specific advice about how to go about communicating with buyers if you're a seller, and many other basic things a beginner might have questions about and needs to be walked through.

There's also a good section about buying collectibles in general, which i found informative.

If you want to get started on ebay, i recommend picking this up at your library, and skimming through it a bit, reading particular parts of the ebay process that interest or puzzle you.
