Summary: An Excellent Resource
Review: The Handbook of Microcontrollers is the most complete coverage of microcontrollers that I have ever seen. At 850 pages, Predko has succeeded in creating an in-depth coverage of not only five common 8-Bit microcontrollers, but also the underlying technology and methods. As such, the lessons learned can be applied to other devices. I particularly like Predko's hands-on approach to teaching. He covers the material and quickly moves on to user duplicable experiments that reinforce the lessons. The text is well illustrated and easy to read. It covers the various development tools available for each of the particular devices and provides pointers to further information.
