Review: I have been working on Oracle apps for a year and I bought this book hoping to get more insight. But was very disappointed by the contents of the book. I feel that even for a biggener this book is not of much help.

Review: I have read this book and it gives Introduction of all modules of Apps. This book may not help to experienced consultants but it may be good for beginers to get idea of all modules of Financials.

Summary: Worth Reading Once
Review: I must appreciate the efforts of David and Graham to come out with such a book. Those who are used to read Oracle Apps Help and other documentation may not find some thing appealing. The authors have tried to mix functional concepts and some technical info with practical Do's and Don'ts. So may be they are not able to satisfy both to the fullest. This obviously is not possible in single book (in first edition too). Still I would expect the authors to include more of Tips that are not documented and extend the content to include manufacturing, HR and CRM to meants meant for Oracle Applications. This book is definitely worth reading once for all levels of professionals !

Summary: Good overview and highlights on certain topics
Review: I think that it is great that books on Oracle Applications are being published as there are not many out there.I bought this one and have passed it onto colleagues who are new to Applications. Looking forward to reading and using the one from Que in Sept/Oct. Books such as this compliment the Oracle manuals, user groups and various web sites/ newsgroups that are out there focusing on Oracle Applications. As support would tell you "your issue is not a bug but a consultancy/ implmentation issue". The more information available from consultants who have or do work with Apps the wealthier the Apps community.

Review: I thought the book was great! Of course one book can not do everything for all people. This is the book I will buy for all my clients about to embark on an implementation. It is a must read.

Review: I thought the book was GREAT! There is nothing else like this on the market and I have been waiting a really long time for this book! It is an extremely complex task to cover so many topics, Im impressed with the thoroughness of the book.

Review: I was extremely disappointed with the book. It gave an overview of some of the modules, but there is no depth. Also, some of what it does contain is not accurate. I've told others that if they know nothing of Oracle Applications, the book may be worth reading. Otherwise, forget it.

Summary: Full of errors
Review: I was surprised, if not shocked by the number of errors I found in the book. Some of them seemed like poor editing -- for instance the mention of three authors when we know of only two. Some errors, however, were very serious since they inaccurately described the way Oracle Financials modules work. I am not certain who did the technical editing of the book but they obviously knew nothing about Oracle Applications. There were too many fundamental mistakes to blame the problem on an oversight. I would recommend the book to anyone who is trying to get an overview of Oracle Financials but would not rely on any information contained in the book in a real implementation.

Review: If there's one book you can buy and get and excellent intro. to Oracle Financials, this book is the one. I'ver personally not seen a comprehensive discussion of Oracle Financials in one book and also at this price. Congratulations!

Review: If this book is called "Oracle Financials Overview" it would be an excelent one. But there is no way in hell this is a "handbook" because there is nothing inside to make you use this book more than once. It is good just to give you an overview (but good one indeed). And what "planning and implementation" (from the book title) are you talking about? Again, this is an Overview and nothing else!
