Review: It gives you an idea about both written and lab exam. But you cannot pass the written exam just with this book. The book from Malik is way more comprehensive, covers twice the material of this book.

Review: Not sure why otehr reviewers complain about a book that contains not only material for R/S written, Security writeen, Security Lab and a sample R/S lab along with full working solutions for a security lab far more complicated than the real security lab supplied in the ccie lab at a cost of {$$]US compared to a title around [$$] US, its well written, authorised by the Security team at Cisco and well organised, the examples are great, the sample written examination is excellent and the samepl labs and bonus material mean you are getting like 3 book for the price of one, great buy, recommnedd it for readers just starting on the long road to ccie, if you think your too good already then attempt the lab and see how you fare, the written exam is not cheap either, great book and thank you Ciscopress for writing it,Ram

Summary: Worst Cisco Press book I've ever had
Review: The book claims to cover the CCIE Security written exam - I haven't passed mine yet, but the book is full of technological mistakes and typos. The simple questions on the CDROM are even worse - about 20% of the questions contain serious technological errors. I wonder how is it possible to pass the Security exam with this book, unless the exam contains the same mistakes as the book itself (which I hope is not the case). I doubt that someone even corrected this book. In addition, many topics are outdated. I think the only think this book can achieve is to teach you wrong material (if you rely on it as the only source of information). I would recommend the "Network Security Principles and Practises" book from Saadat Malik.

Review: The book covers all the area to prepare for the CCIE security exam. Good, compact and practical. The supported material, refernces and especially the CD-ROM is professionally arranged giving bonus material as well. It walks you through all situations in written and lab exam like a good companion, guiding you to a common goal. To me it was a great help.

Review: The books covers exclusively the topics of the CCIE Security - written exam. It gives you an overall perspective of what the exam might include. However, I wouldn't recommend using this book as the only source of information. It is a good idea to combine it with other Cisco Press books, such as "Network Security Principles and Practices", "Routing TCP/IP" and "Cisco LAN Switching". Also, the book contains some typos and errors, therefore I would recommend reading the appropriate RFCs to eliminate any ambiguity.

Review: The CD is fantastic and shows you what to expect, nail the exam in one try after reading and testing on the cd provided, pretty good companion for the lab aslo as there are two great ccie lab which look far more difficult than the real lab so its a great resource all round, nice one ! will keep my copy
