Summary: Awesome guide recommended
Review: A couple of years ago I bought your ExamCram for R&S, which is included in this cd, I read it and passed the written in my first attempt...After a couple of Labs (and time invested) I got my number for R&S last November...Now while browsing I bought your CCIE Self-study for security and I bought it without doubt that will be a helpful book for my new goal...I really want to thank Ciscopress and the author...the author writes in a such way that keep my interest along the whole book, the capacity to touch different topics in a very gradual manner allow me to go in depth and learn fast...Keep the good job...I hope to see your book for CCIE Telephony later...

Review: After reading 1/2 of this book I decided to return it.
Probably it's not that bad as a review of what will be on exam but not definitely a preparation book.
Too many errors. Especially in Foundation material...

Review: At first when I skimmed the book it looked good but now that I have read the whole thing it is disappointing. Many errors on technologies and simple stuff like answers not matching the questions in the chapters. Saadat Malik's book is much much better.

Review: Best book on the market for ccie's no doubt, I have invested in many non-Ciscopress and Ciscopress books and this one takes the cake for the great detail and experience presented throughout the whole volume, there are two sample CCIE labs which are authorized by the author and since he wrote the real examinations and having attempted many ccie lab he knows well what you need to know, a great investment only for Chapter 9, a sample CCIE security lab with 50 % Routing&Swtiching and with detailed solutions awesome chapters, the cd-rom is full of great details and supplements, Practical included: RIP Basic OSPF and Advanced OSPF w RIP Redistribution EIGRP EBGP Advanced BGP FLSM/.VLSM Route Redistribution Examination mistakes made by candidates Security, PIX, ACS, IPSEC and so on, You are not presented with material that compounds you to memorize just what you need to know that is what I like the best about this volume. A really awesome book my compliments to Ciscopress and the author, thanks for writing a great textbook.

Summary: A book which you will keep at hand
Review: For everyone who is certified due to Cisco System's CCNP program and wants to get going towards the CCIE Security, this book is the starting point!
The book covers the CCIE Security Written Exam Blueprint and contains a CD with a test engine which is modelled as the real written exam, where you can mark questions and go back to them at the end. For review purposes, each question is also linked to the electronic chapter covering the topic.
It is a book for the determined not for the desperate, so if you work through it and do some practise besides reading, the CCIE Written Exam is yours. Starting from ground zero you definitely should get yourself some hands-on experience, otherwise this lack in practise will make you fail by 3 percent - it happend!
