Summary: Oh no, not again!
Review: How many times in our life do we have to give our hard earned money to Robert Allen so he can tell us his latest scheme for making money....

This comment comes from someone who has attended live seminars by Mr Allen (no money down real estate schemes - Remember the Camden NJ debacle?) and read most of his other material produced over the years. This latest one is mediocre at best... The NETWORK MARKETING SCHEME(USANA Vitamins) was the WORST!!!

Summary: Can you afford not to buy it?
Review: This is a wonderful, exciting book, which you absolutely MUST read and re-read if you want to make money - not just make a web site.

I have spent more than $15,000 (yes, fifteen thousand) on books on marketing over the last several years. Also I am a high-paid Internet programmer/consultant (and have spent even more on Internet books). So when I bought this book - I didn't expect to learn too much about Internet or marketing. I was wrong.

The book is fresh and cuts through the crap into the heart of building your money making process. It gives many examples of how some small family businesses generate huge profits - detailed experience describing what worked and what didn't.

This book is a treasure of information and advice. It also written very well - once you start reading - it is difficult to stop.

I have already contacted my clients (to whom I have built web sites) in order to change our approach to marketing. Yesterday I spoke to my accountant and explained to him how I will be changing my approach to business - and he absolutely approved (basing on his vast experience with other clients).

Knowing what I just told you - can you afford NOT to buy this book?

Summary: Reads like a thriller
Review: I devoured this book in a couple of days and then slowly re-read it, making extensive notes. How many books do you read that are that useful? Robert Allen takes you step by step through strategies that are powerful income earners on the internet. While it may take time and a powerful sense of dedication to earn big bucks on the Internet, following the suggestions in this book should get you earning right away. I highly recommend it. Summary: Classic Marketing Principles Applied to the Internet
Review: The gaping stupidity of all the "dot-bombs" in the last few years is that other reasonably intelligent people listened to a bunch of geek heads in horn-rimmed glasses for marketing advice. Duh! What were they thinking? What Allen does brilliantly is market and his book is not about a bunch of techno-gizmos that don't translate to the bottom line. MSoII is about "Show Me the Money" and "Getting to 'Yes!'" all in one easy-to-read volume that will give you a clue of what you REALLY need to do on the Internet if you want an ebusiness instead of just a website. Is Allen a self-promoter? Absolutely. Does he then show people exactly how to do it themselves? You bet. I have more respect for that level of honesty and someone who's withstood a few knocks over the years compared to some snotty-nosed 20-something brat who's never seen a downturn in the economy since he's been old enough to drive. Allen has been there and back and I respect his opinion.

Summary: If you just believe......
Review: I was more than skeptical about this book until I read the first chapter. I became excited about the possibility of being able to create multiple streams of Internet income. I had plans to launch a website but wasn't sure exactly how to get started. In this book,Bob Allen takes me by the hand and show me exactly what I need to do to launch a website, develop a feeding frenzy on my website, drive traffic to my website and more. The book doesn't promise me that I'll get rich overnight, but it does give me the tools necessary to create a stream of income using the Internet. Bravo to Bob!

Summary: Focus on the concepts, don't copy!
Review: I'll say this from the outset: This is a good book. I have doubts about many of the reviews that claim fast results from copying the techniques from the book. However, the book is not as bad as those that have given it low reviews. The reality is more towards the middle. The book contains sound advice on target marketing, establishing a web presence and building traffic and a customer list. In addition, there are good tidbits throughout the book. To get the greatest amount of value from this book, you need to be able to grasp the concepts behind the ideas in the book and apply them in a unique way. If you simply try and copy the ideas out of the book, you will have a low probability of success.

I agree that the book is self-serving and may be ghost written. But there is value in aggregating content into one place. Also, the book does no more damage than the academic or MBA level books on Internet marketing and strategy.

Overall, if you are new to e-Commerce and looking for ideas on how to get started, it's a good read if seek to understand the principles behind the ideas rather than trying to copy them.

Summary: Multiple Streams Of Money Is For The Entrepreneur........
Review: This book was an interesting read although some gave it a bad review. This is not a get rich quick solution. Robert Allen is not telling you to quit your day job in 24-hours, he's informing you on how to use your resources/hobbies, or whatever it is you do to make multiple streams of money in genourous amounts by using the resources of the internet. The information he provides is very relevant to business minded people. If you're an entrepreneur I would recommend you to read this book as a reference tool for getting ahead in the new millenium.

Summary: Timeless marketing principles
Review: In Multiple Streams of Internet Income, Bob Allen takes basic marketing principles and applies them to today's turbulent economy. According to Mr. Allen whether making money on the internet or selling soap by direct mail, the principles are the same: you have to have a unique selling proposition. You need to show the customer a distinct advantage for buying your product, make a sensational offer, and have a powerful promise. So, yes, this book will help you make money on the internet, and lots of it. It will also help you make money no matter what your business endeavor.

Summary: Jay Abraham's Marketing Methods Applied to the Internet
Review: The fundamental example in this book is flawed. Mr. Allen set up an experiment to show that he could make $24,000 in 24 hours on the Internet. He actually did much better than that. Presumably, the purpose was to show you that anyone could. What he did was make a lot of special offers on products and services that he sells all the time to an e-mail list of 11,000 names he had been developing over the prior 9 months. In fact, he used four messages to the list to define the offer and to alert everyone it was coming. Now, if you were one of the most famous authors and investors in America and you gave special deals, couldn't you sell over $24,000 worth in a day? But presumably you aren't, so this book will be very valuable to all the other celebrity authors as an example, but not so much for you. The book does have a few examples of ordinary individuals succeeding on the Internet, but these examples don't exactly scream out at me about how I can do the same.

The principles in the book are a distillation of almost every marketing guru who has published a book. In fact, there is so much Jay Abraham in the book that I wondered if Mr. Abraham might have ghost-written it (or at least commented extensively on it).

Mr. Allen promises too much in the beginning. If you follow "the strategies and techniques in this book, you will be well on your way to Internet riches . . . ." Not only will you be rich, you won't have to work very hard for "the by-product of your start-up Internet business is freedom." If one percent of the people who follow this advice get to either result, I would be surprised. I suggest that Mr. Allen take 100 people, teach them his principles, and report back on the results a year later. Then, if they succeed as he promises, I will write a new review that gives this book five stars.

The strength of this book is in encouraging you to select your target audience and understand their wants before you think about what type of business you want to have and the services or products you want to provide. The advice about how to build traffic to your site, get income once they are there, and to build repeat business is all quite good at a general level.

The other interesting part of the book is Mr. Allen's description of how he changed his unique selling proposition over the years from "nothing down" to "hands-on-training" to "real-time millionaire mentors."

There's no bad advice in the book, as far as I could tell. It just overstates the ease of making money on an Internet start-up with limited investment capital.

Where else have people indicated that things are easy that you have found difficult? How about losing weight? How about getting into shape using the latest piece of equipment? What's the best way to evaluate these claims, without pursuing them yourself?

May the Internet bring you all the success you would like to have.
