Rating: Summary: Works Well for Me Review: I have to admit that I actually like this book. It is packed with simple yet practical guides for setting up a popular web site. I have read a few other web marketing books, and most of them are rich in principles but lacking specific action steps. 101 Ways comes with easy to follow instructions, which are immediately applicable. I find the idea to constantly test and measure your efforts particularly useful. To test the author's own efforts. I did a search of "web marketing" in Yahoo! and I was surprised to see his site listed in the first category!! He proved to me that even with thousands of competitive sites, you can still find a way to be on top.
Rating: Summary: Timely and Informative Review: I like the practical strategies in the book. Given the economic downturn, it's even more important for small businesses to invest more efforts in marketing and sales. As expected, a few of the Web resources listed in the book are no longer valid. However, all of the information is still current. (The book is last revised in January of this year). A good read and well worth my money.
Rating: Summary: Some what outdated Review: I love this new edition! It comes with many updated techniques, including search engine optimization, pay-per-click services, viral marketing, blogging, and social networking. The web has changed so much over the years, and I'm really glad to have bought this book. It's working very well for me. The two techniques that immediately bring me results are Google Adwords and online PR. My web traffic has tripled in the past week. Thank you, thank you.
Rating: Summary: Good Little Book With Many Useful Ideas. Review: I really enjoyed reading this little book -- its a fantastic introduction to web promotion. Let me start off by pointing out that this is a book for people new to web promotion (you figured that by looking at the cover art, didn't you?). It's certainly not for those who've been in the game a while. However, if you are a newbie, you'll find that the book covers a lot of territory. Some of which is a little obvious... and some of which is a little less obvious. Unfortunately, as an introduction, you'll likely need to supplement your web promotion library with a couple of additional books in order to generate the results you're targeting. So far, I've found that this book and the Streetwise "Maximize Web Site Traffic" provide a fairly comprehensive foundation. Despite the fact that the Streetwise book was published 2-3 years ago (a lifetime ago in Internet time), its still a fantastic reference. Bottom line? "101 Ways" is a great introduction. Grade: A-/B+

Not pricey....so can be tried. I found it good for a beginnr. Rating: Summary: How to reach out to a larger, more target audience Review: In 101 Ways To Boost Your Web Traffic, internet and technology training expert Thomas Wong clearly and carefully explains how to increase the number of visitors (and repeat visitors) to a website easily and quickly; how to save time and money associated with website promotion; how to reach out to a larger, more target audience; how to persuade others to buy your ideas, products, and services while visiting your website; and how to utilize your website to your best advantage both personally and professionally. Wong's techniques are sound, practical, "user friendly" and internet market tested. In short, they work and work well. Anyone wanting to increase their website traffic, the effectiveness of the website for sales and services, should begin with a thoroughly reading of Thomas Wong's 101 Ways To Boost Your Web Traffic.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Book Review: Reading "101 Ways" is like taking a weekend intensive on increasing web traffic from a pro. I'm impressed with the number of useful ideas Thomas Wong has presented in his book. Extremely practical and beneficial. Hightly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Solid Advice Review: This book is best described as a do-it-yourself guide. Instead of paying someone else thousands of dollars, I'm able to get many more leads after applying just some of the techniques in the book. I find the book easy to understand and use. There is a tendency to think the techniques are too simple to be useful. The key, however, is to test them out. The ones that produce great results are usually the ones that appear to be simple.
101 Ways has helped me optimize my Web pages in a significant way. The advice on the use of Meta tags is a good example. I learn that most global search engines not longer use them. However, for international and intranet search engines, I will still need to set up web pages with meta tags. Solid advice like this is what motivates me to come back and write a good review for the book. So get it, use it, and profit by it!
Rating: Summary: Some what outdated Review: This book is for a novice. I would buy this book, if I want to review/refresh methods to increase web traffic. Most of the ideas in this book are intuitive. But I must say I read the entire book. It was organized well, and its very easy to read.
Rating: Summary: Wish I could say it's good, but I cannot Review: This book is full of obvious, outdated and sometimes poor advice. The title suggests it gives 101 ways to promote your site. Many of the 101 are really ways to avoid turning people away. For example, #11 is "Beware of the Little Yellow Sign." On the plus side, there are some good ideas in the book, it's just that your web promotion research dollars should probably be spent elsewhere. Certainly I would not purchase this as my only web promotion book (and fortunately I did not).
