Summary: The Best Digital Signal Processing text book ever seen!
Review: I am a TA at a University, My class is Digital Signal Processing, So I read many DSP books ever,(except Understanding Digital Signal Processing, which is recommended by many people, but I have no opportunity to read it). Though Oppenheim is classic, it is a bit hard for undergraduate student to understand. With the help of Matlab. it become more easier!
Though this book is not the best one in the field of DSP, but it is the best text book!
I am honoured to be the translator of this book. The Chinese Version will be publised in 2004.
I have to admit that there are still many errors of this book(many are printed errors).

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Extraordinary for beginners and regulars
Review: Of all the books (reference or text) this book supersedes all of them in both theory and examples. It should be must for beginners. A very preliminary knowledge of MATLAB would immensely help while reading this book. And for those DSP practitioners this book is valuable asset. The power of MATLAB is thoroughly utilized in this volume, and the reader will learn both DSP and MATLAB. This book is welcome change from those dull and monotonous books on DSP usually used now.

Summary: Nothing out of the ordinary...
Review: The best thing about this book is the use of MATLAB as a teachnig aid. Unfortunately, the book provides very trivial examples that are not up to par (in terms of difficulty) to the problems at the end of the chapter. Other books allow the student to check his/her understanding by providing some solutions to the end-of-chapter problems in the appendix. This book failed to do so and made it difficult for an engineer to learn this topic without the assistance of an instructor.

In general, this is an OK book as the author did everything he could to make it easy to read and understand. However, it is not the best book for people interested to learn on their own.
