Summary: Passed the PMP and Proud
Review: The book is great as it uses fun teaching/learning techniques to make the terms and procedures easier to memorize. With Andy's somewhat silly (but don't knock it) graphics and acrostics, you can more easily recall the terms and the proper order.

Received the book in January to start the process of application for the exam. Spent the last days in January studying and learning it the first time. Between work and moving homes, forgot about the early May exam date, until 24 hours before the exam. With the simple figures and his recommended methods of learning (I am terrible at memorization), I crammed by reviewing my studies of his notes.

As promised, the material prepared me for the PMP exam and I passed. Andy fulfilled his promises by preparing me for 98% of the exam. Out of the questions I knew half easily, and the balance were easy to narrow the correct answer to only two choices.

Summary: Excellent Book for Serious Project Managers
Review: This book contains a wealth of information that you will find immediately useful in any job, especially Project Management. The structure of the book is easy to follow and contains quizzes to test your understanding of the material as it's presented. Andy Crowe did a fantastic job breaking down the various Processes, Tools and Knowledge areas in a way that makes sense and better yet, is easy to absorb - very important for people on the go who don't have a lot of time to decode some of the other more cryptic texts available on the market. Buy this book! It's worth every penny!

UPDATE 7/21/03: I took the exam today and I am pleased to say that with only this book as my reference (and some on the job training which isn't really what the PMP exam tests you on), I PASSED! Once again, I highly recommend this book for those who don't have a lot of time to read and digest the vast amounts of information out there on Project Management before taking the PMP exam. What are you waiting for? Buy it NOW!

Summary: Excellent resouce for the PMP certification.
Review: This book is excellent; it is well organized, clear and precise in the approach to the PMBOK knowledge areas.

Great job!

Summary: If you use only one resource for the PMP, use this one!
Review: This book is great at getting you focused on what you need to know in order to do well on the PMP certification test. The book in conjunction with the class is unbeatable at getting you prepared.

Summary: The book you should buy
Review: This book provide most of the information need in the exam and follow the contents of the PMBOK. It is useful to read in accompanied with the PMBOK. And the questions provided is useful.

The size of the book is suitable for carry. I can read this book whenever i travel on the train or bus, etc.

However, the price is quite expensive by comparing with other PMP reference books.

Summary: No-nonsense approach to passing PMP
Review: This book provided the best balance of test prep and actually helping me be a better PM through reality based content and examples. I had always been a little intimidated about taking the PMP because it seemed rather academic. Andy really does a good job of making sense out of it and commenting on what the key takeaways of each section are.

Summary: The Title Says It All
Review: This book will help you get what you want: a PMP certification. After going through the book and taking very little study time, I was able to pass the PMP. I've tried other books and have even tried to go through the PMBOK from cover to cover, but I was always left a little lost in the dust. This book helped clear some my confusion and helped me to focus on the necessary items needed to pass the test. Thanks Andy!!

Summary: The only PMP study guide that you'll need
Review: This is simply the best PMP study guide on the market. The practice questions were the most realistic. The information was presented in an easy to understand format. I also used the Rita Mulcahy book. Having passed the exam with a 180/200 correct, I can say don't use any other book but this one.

Summary: I passed the PMP using only this book!
Review: This valuable guide is worth its weight in gold! This was the only reference I used to study for the PMP exam and like the title says, I passed it on my first try in March 2003 - by a wide margin I might add.

The book reads as if the author were right by your side guiding you through the critical information needed to pass the exam. Instead of simply presenting a large volume of information as other reference guides do, Andy Crowe has ranked and rated all of the information he presents. He has organized the book in such a logical format that not only did I pass the PMP exam, but I really understand PMI's processes and why PMI does things the way they do. That's the real purpose of the PMP certification in the first place, right.

I can't recommend this book enough. If you are interested in passing the PMP the first time and shaving months off your study time, (who isn't) you have to read this book.

Summary: Great resource
Review: This was an excellent resource for me. I read this book, made notes, took and retook the test and study questions, committed a few key formulae and all the processes to memory, and passed on my first try. I would highly recommend this book. I used this and a cursory review of PMBOK. As you know, PMBOK is great, but somewhat difficult to follow and study for test purposes. Crowe does an excellent job of breaking down what you need to know to pass the exam. Use this book for the test and as a reference afterwards in conjunction with PMBOK. Highly recommend.
