Summary: Great research, well written
Review: If you want a book about facts supporting creationism, this is the book for you. First, I'll let you know now that this book is actually designed for older children. But as an adult without children, I'd get this book again in a heartbeat. The benefit of that is well written, thoroughly researched, very interesting book without any of the trappings of ego that you will find in the pro evolution section. Plus, it is pretty easy to see where the evolution theory is wrong and far more interesting to see how science supports creation. Don't worry about the bad reviews from those supporting evolution. As a former evolutionist, I know that there is no such thing as "unbiased" science. Anyway, I hope that if you get this book it blesses you as much as it has me.

Summary: Don't be fooled by others
Review: Most, if not all, of the negative reviewers below are merely parroting statements made by Answers in Genesis concerning this book. While Answers in Genesis performs many good works, they do not represent the positions of all creationists, as they seem to purport. Mr. Peterson, in this book, has done an excellent job of introducing many issues concerning creation science in a book directed at the layman. He also challenges us to think about some of the more controversial issues.

Answers in Genesis tends to steer away from controversial issues in the name of presenting a united front on creation science (with themselves as the gatekeeper, of course). That is hardly good science and one of the reasons that evolutionists continue to ridicule creation science. Peterson does not stay in the safe zone and merely re-package a lot of the "safe" creation arguments, but rather he looks at and discusses some of the more controversial issues. While you may not agree with him on all the issues, and I don't think he would expect you to, he does get you to think about them. That is one of the things that really makes this book stand out.

Summary: Sigh...
Review: Peterson has good intentions -- uphold the authority of scripture with Science. Unfortanutely he is using outdated and fallacious arguments to do. This book only gives many evolutionist a reason to reinforce their thoughts concerning creationism. (i.e. it isn't science, no respectable scientist believes in it, etc..)

Examples: The Second Law of Thermodynamics began with the original sin. There are no beneficial mutations. God created starlight to *appear* millions of lightyears away.

To Creationists: Do NOT use this as a source for debating with evolutionists. Instead, read and use peer-reviewed literature from organizations such as Answers In Genesis or the Institute for Creation Research.

To Evolutionists: Don't use this as an example of "typical creationist beliefs." To do so would be ignorant and dishonest.

Summary: Beautiful Colour llustrations - Full of Scientific Wonders
Review: This book is a must for every family who desires to teach the wonderful truths of God's amazing creation. Packed full of scientific research and archaelogical findings. My 9 year old son read this book every night for a month and was extremely excited about the truths he learned. It answered many of the questions he had about our world, sickness, poisonious insects and snakes, and suffering. It built his faith and trust in God.

Summary: Great Book
Review: This book is a wonderful source of information. The author has definitely done a vast amount of research, and it is beautifully illustrated. It is a wonderful tool for gaining new insights and knowledge of how science supports the Bible as well as to understand the many holes in the evolution scheme. A chemist friend of mine the other day saw it on my coffee table and told me that he had the book and that his whole family loves it. And his teenage children are all top scholars in school. As can be seen from some of the reviews, it is not a very good tool for those who hate the thought of Creation as it is given in the Bible. The few seething reviews only strengthen the fact that this book presents solid arguments that are NOT out-dated. On the contrary, many new thoughts and scientific finds are presented - much newer than the same old and worn-out arguments hollered by evolutionists year after year. The example given in one negative review about the Law of Thermodynamics and the stars shows how shallow the evolutionist arguments are, as this reviewer totally takes Petersen out of context, as would be expected from one who cannot find any valid refutations. I love this book.

Summary: This book is wonderful!
Review: This book is great! The book itself is a hardback with a dustjacket. It is not a huge book in size, but the contents will certainly grab you.Going from the days of creation-to Darwin and his beliefs,to ancient civilizations.....this book is intense!
A younger child will eat it up if read out loud.An older child or adult will certainly get loads from it too.On the cover it say Vol 1. I do not know if more will follow or not.
The ONLY thing that could be improved is that it is in black and white. But,the illustrations are wonderful even if not in color.
This book is a great one if you are studying creation.A must for your study! A keeper in its own right.
