Summary: Great Title
Review: I haven't read the book--only the title which is so funny that I am thinking of buying it for my coffee table.
God and Mammon? Who said you can't worship them both?

Summary: The second greatest Commandment
Review: I loved the ease and direction of this book. I purchased this book as a text for one of my classes and when I picked it up for the first time I thought, "Oh no, thick book." Don't let the size fool you, it reads very quickly. This book gives the stagnant Christian leader new facets to instill in their exhisting leadership style. This book can be summed up in Jesus' words love your neighbor as yourself. An excellent thought provoking book.

Summary: A primer for those seeking to understand Leadership
Review: I picked this book up in an airport bookshop, with no preconceived notions of what it might be. In my search to become a better leader, I found the book compelling and was unable to put the book down. I do not claim to be a biblical scholar and this book didn't require it. Simply, this book is a good primer for a leader looking to understand what leadership is.

Summary: Thumbs up!
Review: I read once a few years ago, and am reading and translating every chapter every week for our colleagues in church. Highly recommendation is really appreciated. In Korea, we have localized book in the store, but as for me, this is better to read Laurie's own words with feeling.

Summary: Nice "devotional" reading for leaders
Review: I read this book for a report for a college leadership class. My teacher said later he was hesitant to let me use this book because he didn't know if a religious book would relate well to "secular" ideas of leadership. I found they did, very well. This book is written in short essays. It takes about a minute or two to read each chapter. Leadership principles or skills are illustrated using the words or actions of Jesus. There are over 80 illustrations. I found that traits Jesus exemplified are to be found in "new" ideas professed in all three of my secular leadership classes.

Some problems with the book depending on who's reading it:
--If you're an athiest or a religious non-Christian, you're not going to "get it";
--If you're a Christian you might find that Jones stretches a bit at times to make her "Jesus connection." And sometimes it seemed that Jones didn't know whether to treat Jesus as a God or just a very wise man.

I told my prof I think maybe agnostics would have the easiest time with it. Fundamentally, for this to have any impact on you, you must accept that Jesus existed, that He did the things the Bible said He did, and that His ministry changed the course of the world--you can believe or not that He was God, the Son of God, or a great prophet. Recommended for anyone who wants to know what traits one person had that his 3-year ministry could change the world forever.

For what it is--a simple, devotional-like read, illustrating many leadership traits of an amazing being--I give it an excellent rating.

Summary: Not horrible, but not worth it either
Review: I teach leadership skills, from a Christian perspective, and I thought this book would be great. I was wrong. Much of the book is good and pithy. However, the book is extremely basic. She couldn't get too in depth with 3 page chapters. Some of her theology is less than sound. I read the book, and got some good points; but in the end, I returned the book to the store. It's the first time I've ever returned a book, but this book wasn't worth the money.

Summary: Just the book I was looking for.
Review: I think everyone should have this book regardless of his or her background.

I became a born again Christian last year and have read the Bible 3 times as well as over 16 books and videos on the subject. I now study the Bible for hours everyday because I just get so excited getting to know God. I have never been this excited about anything in my life. I prayed for God to point me in the right direction because I ask him to use me in anyway he wanted so I could become one of his best students. I knew He wanted me to lead others to Him, but I was not sure as to how He was going use me in doing so. I learned to listen and wait and that He will answer when He knows I'm ready. I also learned that the Bible is the only real truth we can count on.

I'm also a business owner and have been for over 16 years in network marketing. I deal with hundreds of people teaching them how to improve their lives. I am always given great inspirational books from people who have taught me, but after being born again, I became very careful as to what is being taught in some of these books.

I picked up Laurie's "Jesus CEO" by accident when in a bookstore. I was looking for another book on management that came highly recommended but I had some bad feelings about it. The information I did know about that book sounded good but when I checked on some of the teachings in it, it was not always in line with what the Bible teaches. But I was willing to get my own copy to read and study it to form my own opinion.

The store manager said he had a copy of this book but he could not find it. While he continued to look for the book, I caught the title "Jesus CEO" out of the side of my eye. At first I continued with the storeowner looking for the book I came in to purchase, but I kept feeling lead to go back and pick up "Jesus CEO". When I did and began to read just some of the chapter headings, I knew right away God lead me to it and tears came to my eyes. I was so excited and told the storeowner I found something better and could not wait to get home to read it.

Ever since I read and studied God's Word the Bible, I knew all the answers anyone could ever ask were there. It takes time. And the study of it will never be completed until Jesus returns. But everyone needs to do this. God has used me to reach some people and they are now reading the bible as well. I was writing things down as I was studying the Bible so I could used it in my training seminars to help people learn how to live and build their own business from home. "Jesus CEO" has been just the book I was looking for. When people wake up and get Jesus' message quickly with "Jesus CEO", it encourages them to go back to their bible to get the whole story. What a great way to witness for Him. God is so Great!!! Jesus was and is the greatest teacher of the entire world if only people would go there first before buying any other books. Sometimes it takes a book like Laurie's to wake people up. If only more businesses were conducted this way. WOW!

I'm so glad the book I went to purchase could not be found. I know God has lead me to Laurie's book and I will use it to lead others as well and I know it will result in them going back to their bibles to get the whole story!!!! For I believe there is only one teacher for how we conduct our lives. Out of all the business books available that I have read over the last 17 years, "Jesus CEO" comes the closest to the Bible and in fact, encourages people who have not read the bible to start reading it. For we all know the truth will set them free as well!!!!

I'm looking forward to reading all of her books and conducting classes based on Jesus' teachings. THANK YOU JESUS CHRIST FOR KEEPING ME IN YOUR DIRECTION. AND THANK YOU LAURIE FOR JOINING JESUS CHRIST' ARMY.
