Summary: Good book, good read!
Review: This book is great! It starts off a little slow and boring. When you read into the book further it picks up pace and becomes interesting.

Summary: Movie Quality
Review: This book is so full of information that teachers in todays society need to be aware of. I think it would make a great movie. Jadi is an amazing little girl and Jerimiha adds great fun to the story. I would like to see more on him maybe in another story to see what becomes of him. I read this book for an Education Class and because of the amazing way Torey Haden tells her story, I have now bought two more of her books and will most likely get the others. Torey you are wonderful, we need more teachers like you. You truley have inspired me as an up and coming teacher, to the point that I want to work with children like Jadi and the rest of your students. These kids truley need the extra love and care you have given them and without it I don't think they would be where they are today. I reccommend this book to anyone that is willing to keep an open mind of the things that go on around us that we are totally unaware of in todays society, in order to help children that are like Jadi. I was truley amazed at what this one child had endured and was still able to function so well in school, academically. Thank you again Torey you are an inspiration.

Summary: Incredible
Review: This book was absolutely amazing. I read it first in high school and recently reread it, only to discover that it was equally good the second time around. I appreciated Torey Hayden's creative use of language (which really helped the story come alive), as well as her honesty. She described times when she said exactly the right thing as well as times when she messed up. She also resisted the urge to give a neatly tied up conclusion, defering to the truth that real life tends to be messy. This was a story that should not have to be told, because children should not have to endure such a life. However, since many children do undergo this suffering, I greatly appreciated the chance to read an account that was open about the horror of it, yet sensitive in its presentation.

Summary: An Awakening Story
Review: This book was extraordinary. Torey Hayden made Jadie's story captivating from beginning to end. Being a child of sexual abuse, and possible other forms of abuse, Jadie had only herself to depend on until she met her new special education teacher, Torey. Despite criticism by her colleagues, and the possibility of damaging her career, Torey never gave up on a child whom at times seemd out of touch with reality. From the first page to the last, this story gripped me and demanded my attention. This book would be good for pre-teens and older. I'd recommend this book to every educator. Outstanding, just outstanding.

Summary: Please write about JADIE!
Review: This book was great, but it left you wondering about Jadie now. It sounded like she was dragged into a cult and was abused by cult people. Even though that was never spelled out, it sounded like cult abuse. I wish there was a sequel about Jadie so her side can be told.

Summary: I Love This Book!
Review: This book was very exceptional. Since this is the profession I plan on choicing when I'm out of high school, this book really helped me to understand just how difficlut and complicated that type of job really can be. Torey Haden seemed to really touch the children she worked with. Not only Jadie, who she seemed to touch in a much bigger way. I can only imagin how difficult it much be to have to put up with the disciplin problems every day. But some how she managed, and she really put her heart into her job. At times, it was difficult to understand Jadie's situation. Her stories didn't quiet peice together entirely for me until the very end. Jadie's home life wasn't what you would expect of a normal child her age, and it was just so sad to finally find out what happened to her behind closed doors. This was definitly the best book I have read thus far, and I would certainly read more of her books in the future!

Summary: Haunting
Review: This is a harrowing and thoroughly believable book. The recent profusion of false memory syndrome cases has made authorities wary of stories like Jadie's, and this is unfortunate. Whatever the exact nature of the abuse, something terrible (and probably Satanic) happened to Jadie, and I admire Hayden for her tenacity in stopping the abuse. Does anyone have information on the actual case? I've found vague references to a ritual abuse case in Minnesota in the early 1980's, and I am wondering if it is this one.

Summary: Ghost Girl
Review: This is an amazing story of a little girl, with severe emotional problems, and the teacher who changed her life. Through great descriptive writing, Torey L. Hayden captures your attention and holds you until the end of the story.

Summary: A gripping, chilling account of a child in peril
Review: This is my first time reading a book by Tori L. Hayden, and i'm impressed with her ability to captivate the reader and expose one to the realm of emotionally disturbed children. This heart-wrenching story about an elective mute, Jadie, who was abused and maybe even involved in satanic rituals is truly one that chills and haunts you even days after reading the book. It is difficult to believe that anything so horrendous and unspeakable could happen to a child as innocent and young as Jadie. However, Tori's dedication and compassion is impressive and her ability to bring children back to the real world really strikes a keynote in each and every one of our hearts. However, I was stuck in the lurch with the ending, and I hope that an absolution or at least a better conclusion that could sum up the book could be included.

Summary: This is the best, most amazing book I have ever read,
Review: This is the best book I have ever read. I love the author so much. All of the books she has written are capturing, you can't put the book down untill you are done. When you are done you want it to keep going. I have read every book except for 1 by Torey Hayden and I don't want to read the last one because then I know there won't be any left to read.
