Summary: Hearsay, speculation and gossip
Review: This book was a waste of time, as are most unauthorized biographies. Mr. Pulley could have better spent his time researching a topic about which he could have gathered all of the facts. I find most unauthorized biographies full of hearsay, speculation and gossip--designed to appeal to the masses so that the author can make quick money. Don't waste your money on this book, and don't allow Brett Pulley's expose' to determine your opinion of one of the most respected African Americans in the world. If you feel you must read it, then borrow a copy from the library.

I admire Mr. Johnson because he had a dream, he laid out his plans, and he pursued his goals. As an individual, he is entitled to his privacy and he has certainly earned respect in the corporate world.

Summary: It's not too late for Bob.
Review: This book was very candid and well written. It shows that Bob primary goal was to build a business, and become rich and he succeed. The idea that he sold it as a media for African American pride is what got him in trouble. Pulley shows that it was "strictly business" Mr. Johnson need not so defensive, what he created made him rich, this book shows that wealth does not equal respect? Nevertheless he has $3 billion dollars and hopefully plenty of time to write a final chapter of which he can be proud

Summary: doing what a brother's gotta do
Review: Though many of his tactics may not have been laudable, you have to applaud Bob Johnson's determination. Up against, insurmountable odds, he grew his small fledgling business into a global competitor. Many will criticize his creation of a network that essentially demeans our race, but he really gave the market what the market wanted. If there had been a viable market for a conscious black channel, I'm certain he would have served that market. Go'head Bob. I ain't mad at cha.
