Rating: Summary: Very Enlightnening Book Review: I am one who doesnt much like to read. when I started reading this "Story", I just couldnt put it down. I read it in one weekend. It was written for all levels of education and turned on quite a few light bulbs!!! I highly recomend it to anyone who wants a better insight of manufacturing.
Rating: Summary: One of the exellent book Review: Is there any translation in Thai, Please send me the publisher name and address. Thank you
Rating: Summary: Understandable explanation of rather complex subject nature. Review: Dr. Goldratt has done a marvelous job with this book. Written as a novel, it makes the book rather enjoyable and hard to put down. He uses real world (outside of standard shop floor experiences) examples to convey the points of his book. His new approach to ship floor management is provacative and insightful. Well written. Very quick read. Excellent read for everyone from line workers to executives.
Rating: Summary: Far from impressed. Review: I didn't mind that the author chose the format he did, but as a successful business owner myself, I would be disappointed to think that even an entry level manager would find revelation in the concepts of this book. But then again, I am constantly amazed at the naivety of most people as to what it takes to make a business run successfully. I thought that The Goal, while providing a useful reiteration of common sense ideas, was, overall, written at a level for fifth graders. The book presented good ideas, but would be better suited to a high-school economics class than a CEO's library. I have found that almost all successful businesses are run by people who are born with a natural ability, and who may also have learned the necessary concepts, but never by people who learn the concepts and are born "without" the natural ability.
Rating: Summary: I never thought a business book could be so dynamic Review: Anyone familiar with manufacturing knows that Eli Goldratt is an "Industry Guru." This book definitely shows why this is true. Most business books are boring and tough to get through. Goldratt turns this business book into a novel, so gripping I couldn't put it down. It is a must read for anyone dealing with the trials and tribulations of a manufacturing plant.
Rating: Summary: an absolute masterpiece Review: Eliyahu Goldratt does what most people think is impossible - uses common sense for life and death situations in a plant.not too many people would have thought that there is a way out for Alex Rogo
Rating: Summary: Worth reading Review: I agree with most of the other reviews I read here. It was great reading...opened my mind. I followed with enthusiasm until the end. It seemed Goldratt was in a hurry to cram the true essence of the book into a few pages. Wish he would have spent more time and pages on the ending.
Rating: Summary: Good Book for Mind Development not Studies Review: This book is really great for a little mind development in business but not for studies. Did 2 subjects that recommended this book and screwed up in both, but book itself is fun. Lousy ending though.
Rating: Summary: ............................................................ Review: Excellent, insightful, beautifully crafted, hands down the best business novel I have read. The first time through I wrote in the margins; however, the second time I grabbed a tablet and organized my thoughts and ideas. First Rate Eliyahu!
Rating: Summary: Easy reading, gets to the point of system optimization. Review: An excellent book for any organization attempting to get the most of their integrated operations. A must for any integrated entity.
