Summary: must-read for people with money and people without money
Review: This book is very educational in that even if you think you know how to handle your finances, you will find out you're mistaken. Common sense advice is used extensively.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!
Review: Okay, so he's a little cocky on his radio show, but he knows what he is talking about!! This book is written in a way even a financially ignorant person could understand. We have dropped $35,000 in debt in 3 months! (No - I did not write that wrong.) Don't think there is no hope. He will show you how to budget and SAVE on even the smallest of incomes.

Summary: How to book and getting out of and staying out of debt
Review: This book is NOT a primer on personal finance. It would not even make a good reference book on personal finace. It is, however, a very good book for those of us that have gotten into debt and really want to both get out of debt and stay out of debt. My wife and I plan to try the steps laid out in this book. None of them can hurt.

Summary: Common Sense Financial Budgeting
Review: Financial Peace is an excellent book. Dave Ramsey has a daily radio show in which he gives people common sense financial advice. This book is a carry over of his radio show. In the book he outlines several steps for obtaining financial peace of mind. He also includes several worksheets to help with planning the budgeting process. The book is easy to follow and understand. I give it two thumbs up! It definitely changed my attitude about debt and credit cards

Summary: It has saved our financial lives. Thanks Dave
Review: It is a very simple guide to gaining financial freedom. With practical information on budgeting and investing. We have everyone in our family buying a copy, after the change that they have seen in our lives. We went from being the most financially irresponsible couple, to being debt free and having money in the bank. We couldn't say thank you enough for what Dave has done for us. Sincerely Lance & Laura

Summary: A must read! It WILL change your life
Review: Financial Peace provides an easy-to-read, common sense approach to managing your finances. The book will help you to get "angry" at your debt and will show you ways to get out of debt and begin saving money for future purchases and retirement. The book does not demean you into following its plan. Rather, it uplifts you spiritually and encourages you to change your thinking towards finances and how they affect not only your life, but the lives of the people around you.

One warning though : Be prepared to cut up all of your stupid credit cards after reading this book! You won't want them anymore!

Summary: SIMPLE BUT POWERFUL
Review: This is a very simple and easy to read book about getting out of debt and becoming financially free. The steps are clear-cut and presice and I plan on using the techniques to become free of debt. But to me the most powerful thing about the book is how it changes your way of thinking about debt. I like everyone hates being in debt but for some reason we've come to think that it's neccesary. The whole nation is in debt and it's only getting worse. This book opens your eyes to the fact that debt destroys lives and causes a never ending cloud of depression over you.
I really don't think people realize this in their everyday lives. They buy and buy what they can't afford and wonder why they're not happy with their spouses, jobs, careers, lives. Bottom line ,,, Debt equals NO PEACE and this book proves it.

The only negative about this older version of the book is that it doesn't suggest what a person should do if they don't have the money to take the steps. The book is so powerful in influencing your mindset it seems strange that it leaves out the important fact that a person may have to get a part-time job or they may have to cut out a lot of luxuries in order to get debt free. This version also doesn't suggest how a couple should work out differences of opinions when it comes to credit.

Other than those two things this is a great read for everyone and a book I feel every freshman in college should get for free before they start receiving all of those pre-approved credit card statements..

Summary: Death to debt
Review: I read the original "Financial Peace" and have been listening to Dave Ramsey since 1993. I can truly say everything in this book I have done. Financial Peace is the best financial book I have ever read.Want to get out of debt? Want to keep your house from forclosure? Dave's you man and Financial Peace is your book.Dave has been there and done that- he wanted and he did it. he overcame financial disaster and he is telling his story so you can benefit from his mistakes. MY FINANCIAL MENTOR, Dave helped me most by expalining that if you dont have enough money for the end of the month, you have two choices change your expenses and possibly you income or be misserable. He explains that the train of life if full of people who live paycheck to paycheck-70% to be exact and we are all only one financial challange away from loosing everything we have. You are in luck-if you buy the book and apply the information:Cut those cardsSet up an emergency fundDump that debtIf you're lucky you'll be able to make decisions like I do: I quit my job making $35,000 a year-baby on the way and I didn't bat an eyeI have the money-in cash to pay my bills while I set up my insuance agencyIf you're miserable at work and you cant quit, If your spouse wants you to make more money-maybe you should show your spouse that you can spend $100 for a new designer shirt, you can pay $50 for a new designer shirt, you can pay $20 for a new designer shirt, you can pay $7 for a new designer shirt or you can pay fifty cents for a new designer shirt!!! You decideYou don't have to be poor to appreciate these strategies------------------just in debt.a great book to follow up withThe Millionaire Next Door

Summary: Knowledge without Action is Powerless!
Review: Dave Ramsey presents some very good information and IF most people appled it they could indeed create Financial Peace. The truth is as Dave says on page 271, "..Reading this book and obtaining knowledge is good, BUT IT IS NOT ENOUGH." Over 7 trillion dollars in consumer debt has families struggling with not only money but with time. They need a system that takes less than an hour a month, which is about all of the time and energy they have to break free. Dave certainly has the heart of his reader in mind when he wrote the book.

Summary: Change your life...now!
Review: This, in a nutshell, is a great book. That is a title that I do not give lightly but the reason that I do is that the principles in this book have the potential to change you life and the lives of your children. In a very easy to read and understand writing style, Dave Ramsey communicates how to win at the personal finance game. He teaches how to get out of debt and stay out. He teaches how to invest wisely for your future. And he teaches how to come up with a monthly financial and how to live it so that it works. I've tried for years to make a budget work for me but seemed to blow it every single attempt. Putting Dave's practical methods into practice, I've seen how a plan can put me in "control" of my money, instead of wondering every month "where did it go!"

I would recommend this book to anyone that's serious about getting control of their lives. It is not for those looking for casual reading. Read only if you want to change your life.
