Summary: Sharpen awareness of where your money goes
Review: This book was a gift, and it is the best financial-awakening guide I've read yet. You'll recognize many people here, Ramsey does a good job characterizing how different types spend money differently and how you can be one of the 'saving type'. There isn't any real hard-core financial help here, but there is some easily read, solid advice that is similar to what your grandad has been telling you all along.Ramsey has been at both ends of the financial spectrum, doesn't lay blame, and spins plenty of case histories to illustrate his points. I didn't get much out of his wife's little end-chapter blurbs, but these are easily overlooked.

Summary: READ THIS BOOK
Review: I can't stress enough what a Godsend this book has been for me. Whether you're deep in debt or just playing around in the shallows like I was, this book is a wake-up call! I am still paying a hefty "stupid tax" but I am on my way out of the hole thanks to Dave. Get this book and get some peace!

Summary: Good, sound advice for the average American family.
Review: I heard about this book from a friend a couple of years ago but just got around to reading it. I truly wish I had read it back then - I'd probably be debt free by now. Debt free in America? What a concept! Ramsey makes the reader realize that we live in a "gotta have it now" world and that by using credit to get it, we end up spending way too much money for even simple things like food (i.e. eating out compliments of a gold card at 21% interest) and everything we think we own is really owned by a bank or finance company. Scary ideas at first, but very comforting once you buy into the concept of debt-free through discipline.

Summary: This book has greatly helped us financially.

Summary: From debt and in the red to debt free and well in the black
Review: This book teaches you to stay away from debt and credit. It teaches you to watch your money and keep it in your account rather than citibank and discovers account. It lays a simple foundation to pay cash and live on what you earn. Kindof what your parents and grandparents told you to do.

Summary: Death to debt
Review: I read the original "Financial Peace" and have been listening to Dave Ramsey since 1993. I can truly say everything in this book I have done. Financial Peace is the best financial book I have ever read.Want to get out of debt? Want to keep your house from forclosure? Dave's you man and Financial Peace is your book.Dave has been there and done that- he wanted and he did it. he overcame financial disaster and he is telling his story so you can benefit from his mistakes. MY FINANCIAL MENTOR, Dave helped me most by expalining that if you dont have enough money for the end of the month, you have two choices change your expenses and possibly you income or be misserable. He explains that the train of life if full of people who live paycheck to paycheck-70% to be exact and we are all only one financial challange away from loosing everything we have. You are in luck-if you buy the book and apply the information:Cut those cardsSet up an emergency fundDump that debtIf you're lucky you'll be able to make decisions like I do: I quit my job making $35,000 a year-baby on the way and I didn't bat an eyeI have the money-in cash to pay my bills while I set up my insuance agencyIf you're miserable at work and you cant quit, If your spouse wants you to make more money-maybe you should show your spouse that you can spend $100 for a new designer shirt, you can pay $50 for a new designer shirt, you can pay $20 for a new designer shirt, you can pay $7 for a new designer shirt or you can pay fifty cents for a new designer shirt!!! You decideYou don't have to be poor to appreciate these strategies------------------just in debt.a great book to follow up withThe Millionaire Next Door

Summary: The Book on getting out of debt.
Review: I am in the business of helping people get out of debt and save money. Financial Peace is the best book on the subject that I have read. Its honest, direct, simple approach is what people need so they can really understand how their money works. It gets to the heart of the matter, that is, personal finance is more emotion than logic.

Summary: Killing all the credit sharks -- The Money Game way
Review: I very much enjoyed this book. Hopefully, the databases will be updated to include Dave's newest version of Financial Peace published by Viking; but, if you can get your hands on a paperback version, it has pretty much the same information. Read it early and often, cut up those crazy credit cards, get on a budget, and start your own voyage to Financial Peace
