Review: Having seen interior shots of homes decorated by the late Roger Banks-Pye I was quite keen to see a collected body of his work. It was as impressive as I thought it would be. Quirky - yes, inspiring - definitely, Banks-Pye would have gone on to be one of the major names in decorating and design. From his unique treatment of his apartment (formerly owned by Somerset Maugham) to his signature blue and white style found in his country home, everything about Interior Inspirations merely made one want to see more of his design principles. A very good idea source, and sadly, the sole compendium of Banks-Pye's work. Don't miss this classic if you like rooms that are warm, inviting, and eccentrically eclectic!

Review: I have collected decorating books for many years, and this book is my all-time favorite. Banks-Pye's exquisite taste, combined with his humor, originality, and style, are reflected on every page. For those of us who cannot afford to hire a professional decorator, but want to create a comfortable, inviting, well-appointed home, this book is a treasure trove of ideas. My decorating budget is far, far less that that of a Banks-Pye client, yet I have been able to adopt a number of his suggestions. Although Banks-Pye is, sadly, no longer with us, his charm endures in these pages. If upper-crust British-style decorating appeals to you, you can't go wrong with this book.

Review: I have sat in book stores browsing through this book and couldn't bring myself to purchase it due to it's expense. I am so glad to have found out about amazon and tell ALL my friends. this book is a great library addition. I like to look through it with coffee to be inspired!!

Review: I have to agree with the previous reviewers, this is a fabulous and stimulating book. Roger took the classic Colefax & Fowler style and updated it in his own eclectic, bold, and daring way. Absolutely unafraid to mix color and pattern to make dramatic statements, he inspires one to take risks. So many people are afraid of decorating that they settle for safe and boring. This book so pulls you into Roger's way of thinking that you long to try new, fun things in your own home.

Review: I like to think of myself as having an eclectic style; I have many influences. I like some country and traditional elements. I had heard favorable things about Colefax and Fowler, so I thought this book would be a good representation of English country style. If this is the best, I would hate to see the worst. I don't think readers that want to explore English country should start with this book. It might turn them off. However, long-time fans of tradional and country styles might derive more benefit.

Review: I wondered whether this book might be a bit too high-brow when I first got it, but I immediately fell in love with the Banks-Pye charm and style. His creativity inspired me most. Is there another designer brave enough to cover a floor in chintz or upholster a chair with the fabric intentionally turned inside-out? There's a particular boldness about his decorating style which is encouraging to those of us who tend to under-do things. How refreshing to gather some new rules of thumb from such a witty person
