Review: This iw the worst book I have yet read. While the concept of the Biography is enhanced by the plates and drawings, the foot notes don't correspond to the propper painting. The facts of his life don't even go hand in hand with Leonardos notes on himself. Other journalists and recorders of Leonardos time dictate him as being a marvelous genius in which all aspects of talent blossomed from his soul at some point in his life. If this books had any basis in researched fact it would have been reviewed by the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. And by the National Historical Preservation Society and since it has not been,. Anyone interested in - da Vinci, read for yourselves from the masters own hand writing, even if in translation. This book a pathetic fallacy on a great man.

Summary: An excellent introduction to Leonardo
Review: This work provides a good introduction to the fascinating subject of Leonardo and his creative genius. Clark writes with elegance and insight about the whole span of Leonardo's career. He focuses on the drawings and provides the reader with an understanding of Leonardo's technical and artistic accomplishment. Clark is also reserved in his claims of understanding the mystery of Leonardo's personality and human relation.
Like Leonardo in his inventions Clark does not supply the full and final detail that gives the complete picture. His work is a fascinating introduction which however gives a basic understanding of the subject.

Review: Well put together, very encompassing, good explanations...... It doesn't need a paragraph to describe it. If you like Da Vinci or want to learn more about him, this is a great place to start!
